It plays with your heart.
It's really normal in the start but don't let that fool you. The books keeps building up as you keep reading it. And then it throws you off a cliff. Just as mind blowing as the other books. An amazing book and must read.

The book's PHENOMENONAL
I just completed reading this book and now am wishing that I I'd never finished it in 3 days, wishing that I'd took it up to 5 days because this book is the best book in the whole series.. The plot the secrets(the revelation of those secrets) left me lamenting... This book is very much like GoT with all the POVs and plot twist and especially the ending, which left me lamenting even after five days.. I finished ToD today and understood why SJM had to write ToD what with Maeve and all... Can't wait foe September 2018..i don't know what I'll do till then but I'll survive, if only to see how it all ends...

Well, shit.
Honestly, I have no idea whether to laugh or cry. This legit left me in tears. Sarah J Maas, why must you do this to us? Probably the best book I've read in 2016. If you've read Queen of Shadows and the prequels, you probably don't want to miss out on this one. It has the best twists and turns and will give you goosebumps and will make you cry. Kudos to SJM!

Great stories
I am working my way through this, after finishing her other 2 series, and all her stories are very well crafted, keep me engaged throughout and wanting more at the end of each. I like her characters, as all are morally ambiguous and not traditional heroes and villains, and they are relatable and memorable. What I like less is the romance - the sex, which is always so wholesome and perfect and leaves me bored and the soul-mate-only-one-for-me-ever kinda intensity. While they have arguments, they are still depicted as “perfect love” which is tedious and unrealistic. But it is fantasy, and I can ignore it for the wider story. I do like the theme of female agency throughout her books.

When you finish Queen of Shadows you think you've reached the apex of the story. What could be better/worse (yes, both) than that? That's when Empire of Storms appears and destroyes all your beliefs. This book was EVERYTHING. Is it perfect? Nah, I have some little criticism, like always. But it was an incredible, heart-wrenching journey. One thing, in particular, stood out to me and made me realize the greatness of Sarah J. Maas: her ability to portray many different characters like they were all MCs. Every person/Fae/something in this book has an articulate, complex story behind him, a complex and faceted personality - they're all so diverse, three-dimensional, genuine, real. Oh my god, they feel so vivid and realistic. And if that isn't enough, Maas intertwines their stories with such ability and expertise it will make you think "no way" . She slowly and carefully crafts every single path, making all of them appear their own, personal stories, just to then make them encounter and join together like the most perfect puzzle. This - in some ways - reminded me a lot of what J.K. Rowling did with Harry Potter and it blew my mind. When each story crosses the others, it's so natural, so well-done it doesn't feel forced at all. Empire of Storms is the apex of this talent of her, it's the series' chapter where you can appreciate this side of Throne of Glass to the fullest. It's the book where you find yourself following many different stories at the same moment, but it's never too much: she knows how to write a story with multiple POVs, she knows how to narrate multiple stories and giving all of them the time and focus they deserve. There's not one single character I felt needed more "screen time", not one that felt a bit shallow, less developed than the others, less important. That's how you do multiple POVs, end of the story. Empire of Storms is the best book in the series so far. The story is crafted almost to perfection!
