Perfect upgrade for an older PC.
Well, what to say about this little gem of a card. I'm running an old i5 2500k 3.6mhz processor with 8 gig of DDR3 memory, and this little beast doesn't bat an eyelid. If there is any bottle necking going on, I'm not noticing it. My old mechanical hard drive that holds all my games doesn't seem to affect it. Once up and running this little card is a beast. Now I know not all games are created equal, some being more cpu hungry than others. But having tested the games below it doesn't really seem to phase the EVGA 1050ti one bit. I turn off nonsense game effects like depth of field, chromatic aberration and motion blur. Our eyes aren't camera lenses so why developers treat them like they in game is beyond me. I do turn on anti aliasing. And everything is at 1080p of courseDOOM: Ran this in Vulkan mode on Ultra. Turned of nonsense as mentioned above. 60 fps. And I mean rock solid. Did not waver.RESIDENT EVIL 7: On the highest settings with a couple of things like render resolution kept at default. 50-60 fps consistent. Very smooth.GTA V: Even when I went nuts and cranked everything up to max it still played at over 30 fps very smoothly. A notch below on high settings its lovely at 60fps, sometimes more.DESTINY 2: Everything cranked up and 40 - 50fps no problems. Scale it back a little and I'm getting 60fps or more. Impossible to go back to the PS4 version of this game now. It just blows it out of the water.I also ran some older titles and as you expect they were blistering. Modern Warfare 2, Diablo 3, FEAR 2 and Skyrim in case you were wondering.Fan noise is quiet. Temperatures were low. GTA 5 was the most demanding off all with temps at 76 degrees and fan at 45%. And that was everything turned way up. This card just wasn't bothered. All in all if you want a budget card that does 1080p gaming at some of the highest levels for your older PC, then look no further. How that's possible at £160 is, quite frankly, bonkers. It's simply a no brainer and by far the cheapest way to upgrade your old system. I did look at the 1060 but i think the law of diminishing returns would have applied there. More expensive and I'm not sure I would have seen a big difference. Plus only 3 gig of Vram as a pose to 4 on this. Yes, its a higher clock speed, but hence why it costs more. For the extra £10 as well buy this Super Clocked version. Its factory overclocked out of the box. No tweaking necessary, although I'm sure you could if you wanted to.

this is the best budget option and this EVGA model works perfectly well
After a week of use, I'm impressed by what this card can do. Previously, I used a GTX 1070, but was forced to downgrade. This is no comparison in terms of power, but what you do get is something considerably more powerful than the graphics processors in baseline current-gen consoles. Paired with a competent (I'm running an i5-4570S) or even a budget CPU such as the G4560 (from what I have read), you can achieve higher frame rates and/or higher graphical settings by a significant margin, as compared to console versions. For example, I'm currently playing Prey at a mostly-consistent 60fps, using similar or greater graphical settings to the base PS4 version which runs at 30fps. In benchmarks such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, I can typically achieve a 20% greater framerate at enhanced graphical settings. Inside of a 75W power limit, it's impressive, though it's also worth keeping in mind that the PS4 Slim's system power use peaks at around that level; in fact, the 1050Ti is less power-efficient in games than the 1070.Regardless, this is the best budget option and this EVGA model works perfectly well, although I am disappointed that the fan doesn't turn off at idle, as this was a huge benefit of other Pascal GPUs I've tried. I like to keep noise as low as possible, although I realise this won't be possible so long as we have mechanical hard drives! If you buy this, do also consider overclocking. It's simple to achieve this with little tech knowledge, and there is little risk since you aren't adjusting voltages. Each piece of hardware has its own tolerances, and official specs are kept low for the sake of yield, so it's up to the user to attempt to find appropriate clock speeds for their individual hardware. On my card, I've managed +220/+400 GPU/MEM offset. (Do consider that this is presumably going to void your warranty, though)Anyway! Yes, I recommend this card. Low power-usage and low cost are the main advantages, and performance is frankly pretty great.

Good card saving a £100 if you want a 8gb ...
Good card saving a £100 if you want a 8gb card. then spend the extra £100. otherwise really good card. for the money. easy install requires no power lead and consumes very little. I'm please with the seller and the product. the *gb cards will come down and i'll upgrade to that. I think I'll get radeon next time though. As i had one before this one. Even though it was only a 1gb card. I think it was faster. Not sure why but things are not running as smooth as expected. that being said The graphics are much better. Much better. defiantly worth a look this card. the value the performance it's worth it defo. if your upgrading from 1 gb cards. some 2gb cards are just as good as this one. so depending on the 2gb card you have I Wouldn't recommend upgrading. Wait for the prices drop on the *gb cards. To see a real difference. Or spend extra £100 if you have the money to burn.MY overall advice is never spend more then £150 on a new gpu. Its just not worth it.
