Whale Service Kit for Gulper 220

My shower room waste pump stopped working got a plumber out and told me the problem but couldn’t get the parts for 10 days brought it from this company. Amazon also said 10 days delivery. Ordered Friday afternoon arrived Monday morning. I am not a plumber but I was able to strip the pump down and fit the service kit with no problems. Engineer by trade so I could use a screwdriver and a spanner Hardest part was the pump has to be on the downward stroke The only way I could find to do this was on a u tube video Disconnected the live from the pump turned the shower on (shower head in the sink) Touched the live connection briefly to the live on the pump until the pump was at its lowest Turn it all of and instal the service kit What I also did was take take pictures as I went along Going to buy another kit in case it goes wrong in the future

Fitted it 6 months ago .works perfectly all the parts were there easy to install step-by-step instructions

Wouldn't buy buy it. As the support from whale is crap

i had never heard of such a thing as this pump ,but when it broke the shower just ceased to work forty eight hours later from the south of england we had the repair kit ,,next day the shower is working...great service...cant tell you what i received but the plumber was happy

I like the pump except its too noisy. I tried cleaning it but its the same. How do i make it quieter?

The design is crap the basic valve system is dreadful. On the inlet flap I reinforced it with some plastic so it shut tight on the outlet flap I used a roĺled up piece of silicon rubber to make the valve seal. Now the crap design works well and now the shower floor stays dry and the filter system ha ha big joke a fitted a stainless mesh cover it now clips out and just empty in the loo a really bad design around. I use it a wet room as I am disabled. My recommendation is buy another manufacture not Whale.

I only wanted one bit out of this kit, but had to buy the lot. The rubber none returned valve, and it’s star shaped so it won’t last as long as a flat equivalent. Not good and I’m wishing I’d got a different pump ☹️

Works great, because they are OEM. Do not buy knock-off. Not worth the hassle of overhauling twice.

I love these whale gulper pumps! That said, in my experience the service life of these pumps is about 5 to 7 years of normal use. When they start to go, you'll see a decrease in pumping volume. Don't spend a fortune on a new pump when you can use this kit to make it like new again for pennies on the dollar. Don't get stranded somewhere with a busted pump, keep one of these kits on hand and you'll be ready to go in short order.

It's always the same part that needs replacement. It's always that small rubber diaphragm (photo). Where can I get that 10cent part only? Why do I always have to purchase the whole kit? I would even take them by the dozen!
