Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Omnibus) Vol. 1-2

A worthy manga to read and keep, even if you have already seen its anime adaptation
Got captivated by the anime adaptation (which is still ongoing at the time of writing) and decided to pick up the manga. While the top side of the book is dented (was only sent on a paper bag) it was otherwise in good condition and good print. It's a rewarding read where even though I see that the anime did a really faithful job of what the manga already tells so effectively, it's still great seeing the perspective of this story in its origin drawn/written form. As someone that was interested in science when I was younger (lost interest over the years admittedly), it did harken back to my childhood years when I looked at physics and astronomy books and would flip back and forth between one page that had Ptolemy's geocentric and Copernicus' heliocentric models.Telling historical fiction in the way Orb does it is thought provoking on the pursuit of knowledge amidst unfair oppression and likely death; it talks about ideas with characters you might not agree with personality-wise, but gives you an understanding of their convictions; and despite aspects that are grim, it is ultimately showing that standing your ground on hopes that the world would be a better place.. matters.
