I just got my razor from my wife as an early birthday surprise and I think it’s time for an honest and fair review about my new addition to my existing safety razors. I own a Merkur a Parker 91R and an Edwin Jagger DE89 razor so this one will go into rotation with the other tree.I was looking forward with mixt emotions based on the reviews posted about this razor. I was pleasantly surprised, the packaging is very nice and protects the razor properly.The razor handle is outstanding it gives a good balance to the razor and the workmanship it is second to none. It is a keeper for sure. It fits perfectly with my other razors and boy does it make a difference in the shaving. The grip it’s excellent even with wet and soapy hand.The so criticized head. Well if you set your expectation to receive a chrome finished shiny razor than I can see why some might be disappointed. The fact is that this razor it is finished in a satin (non shiny) finish which is on the listing as well. So I was expected this and the small marks on the razor head it does not bother me at all since they are only visible and the head itself it is very smooth. The two plates that make up the razor head they are slightly ( less than 1mm) off but they do not effect the performance of the razor which gives a very nice and smooth shave.The shave it is close and did not irritate my face at all. I did use feather blade with it since that is my favorite blade. You should try a few other blades and use the one that fits you and sensitivity of your skin.Over all I’m pleased with this razor and give a solid 4 star rating based on the performance and the handle of the razor. It is a good value and a great addition to my existing razors.

I receive my apollo razor today. but had to return it because I thought the finish on the razor was supposed to be (satin / Mill finished).To my surprise it was chrome ! It was my mistake, the description said it was chrome. I thought because of the picture it had a different finish. I am giving it a 5 star rating because I did examine the razor ! The chrome finish was flawless, and the parts on the razor all fit together real well. If I was looking for chrome razor I wouldn't have had second thoughts about keeping it. This razor has a lifetime warranty ! There isn't one razor on the market that I know of that does ! The company contacted me the same day I ordered the razor, to let me know they would be contacting me in a few days after I receive it . To see if I was completely satisfied with it.Well they really never had the chance !!!! With in a hour after I received it , I had it at the ups store sending it back. with in ahour the company had called me to ask why I had sent it back, and apologized, for the confusion. I'm am so surprised to see one of these companies have so much concern for there customer's. I paid twice as much money for my Edwin jagger razor add never heard a peep out of them. How could you go wrong buying this razor , (lifetime warranty, and a company that cares) !.I would recommend this razor for those who are wondering whether your getting a peace or junk or not. Its not and if something is wrong you won't have any problem getting it corrected. Happy shaving !!!!

I specifically asked asked about the construction materials of this razor before I ordered and was told that the handle was stainless steel and the head was brass. The head of the razor is not made of brass it is a cheap, plated zinc. The pictures of the razor do NOT reflect the quailty of the product that I recieved. The casting of the head is rough and unfinished showing grinding marks and the plating is already comming off. For the price of the razor, some quality Murkur of vintage Gillettes can be had on ebay. Don't waste your time on this, you will not like it and a refund is a pain in the neck!

The handle is pretty decent but not near the cosmetic quality of the advertisement photos. It looks like the machines making these are going way too fast. There are cutter marks on the threaded end (this should be quite flat instead of groofed). There is an arc of damage through the knurling. There are various other dents also, and the threaded hole is a bit off center. It's a very heavy handle which I like - but I think it's just slightly too heavy. Mine also was packed hard with oily shavings in the threaded hole. This handle is intended to do one thing only - and that is to be a handle to a razor which means it needs to thread onto the razor head's stud. It won't do that - pretty basic failure I think. It did have a fairly classy box though. Bottom line - I'd spend the extra bucks for a higher quality handle. The photos are misleading.
