MATHMOS Lava Lamp Astro Baby - Blue/Green [Energy Class G]

Hi everyone. Where to start? Well. The packaging is of the very, very first quality. The lava lamp itself is just perfection,( I actually owned an original, way back in the 70s) but, alas and alack, it was lost during the passage of my life, (12 years a soldier, divorce etc.) If you really want the absolutely best lava lamp, than look no further than Mathmos. This is a fantastic piece of kit. How many English companies can now opine: We have spare parts that can fix one of our products that your parents bought in the 60s/70s." Nuff said I reckon. I've been enjoying mine for over four hours now, it is so relaxing and brings back so many good memories while I indulge in a night of red wine and early Floyd, The Doors and ELP. This lava lamp was a present for my girlfriend and she absolutely loved it! I got the plum version with clear liquid, and it's very fascinating and soothing to watch the lava form different shapes, especially with the lights switched off. I was especially pleased that it looked like a high quality lamp and nothing cheap or tacky, definitely worth the money! We haven't had any issues with it so far in terms of functionality or anything breaking/overheating/etc. and we've owned it for 4 years now.

One thing i have learned is that if you want something then you really do need to get the best that you can afford. I know this is a little pricey and that there are cheaper ones (half price etc..) but they are not worth it.This is sturdy, solid, performs brilliantly. Little baby (6 months) loves it.I have had the cheaper version in the past as 'it will do for now until i move'. Waste of time. they overheat, connections are not too tight, oil inside is not nearly as good and loose shape. Get this, not the cheaper ones and you will not be disappointed.

My daughter loves this. Such a nice addition to her room. Would be 5starts but The bulbs don't have a long life, circa 40hrs.

The lamp itself is amazing quality, looks great, and all, arrived nicely packed, however it had a few noticeable scratches here and there , which put me off a bit, but i decided to keep it, i then shortly after learn " through allot of googling" that this lamp should NEVER be turned on for more than 8 hours at a time, which is a letdown for me, i dont want a lamp i constantly have to keep track of, basically the longer you leave it on, the smaller the liquid bubbles get, and by hour 8, theres allot of tiny tiny bubbles floating around this means it is to hot, and you need to shut it off,at this price, i would expect the company to let me know this fact before a purchase , its nice to know your purchasing a lamp that has a timelimit , and in that case how hard would it be to add a "" auto "" turn off function when it reaches a certain temperature
