You get what you pay for
Ok so they're not made by Axminster and they're not an Axminster price but the adage 'buy cheap buy often' comes to mind. These were the sort of tools you buy for your workshop just in case you need them someday, well I did and I did. They literally fell apart within minutes of starting to use them, with the end spring loaded sleeves falling off.I tried to repair them but to no avail. A tool can only be called a tool if it functions as a tool, if not, it's a piece of junk.

Fantastic
Very simple construction and we'll made. One could argue the outer cylinder isn't aligned but this doesn't matter as a self centering drill bit. It's just a drill bit with a spring and cylindrical shieth. I thought it best as a Brad point (spike to stop it moving about) but again, as a self centering drill bit, it's used atop the holes of a bracket like a hinge so with the springed shieth over the holes, it's already centered and won't move so long as the bracket doesn't. Four sizes but I haven't yet needed to change size. Very very good, fantastic price

Useful little addition to my drill bit collection
I only just got around to using these the other day. I used them to fit a metal name plate to a door. The size of the drill bits and the self centering collars seem to be pretty good and would suit most situations.I wasn't keen on the idea that the sizes are written in imperial units but thats my only (hair splitting) grumble.

For DIY users only in my opinion
I haven’t used these yet so my comments are based on initial perceptions. They are reasonably sturdy and appear to do what they should. My reservations are to do with the spring inside the unit. It appears to be too strong and too bulky so it inhibits the movement of the plunger and hence impacts on the depth of hole that the drill can attain. One unit for example, can only drill about 1cm deep before it runs out of “travel “. That may be enough for hinge screws but, frankly, I doubt it. They have a certain novelty value but are not good enough for professional use.

badly desgned
first problem with these is they do not self centre into a countersunk hole.the second is that the sleeve is held in with a pathetic wire circlip as thin a human hair which is just not up to the job so the end falls out.which is a shame.

Drill bit
Ok for the price and for diy jobs. The drill holding screw rounded of on one so I replaced it with metal not monkey metal they don’t stay tight and the shroud comes loose I just put a little masking tape on the top does the job :)

Good buy
This is not too bad. They are a lot heavier than I thought they would be and appear to be well made. They are all "pre-loaded" with drill bits which was a nice surprise. They are well worth the price, and arrived 1 full week early.

Cheap and not so cheerfull.
The clips holding the springs keeps coming off, jamming the outer housing. Would recommend buying a better brand if you need to use it for more than a couple of times.
