Good for communication radios which require electret microphone
Using these as a communication headset with my ICOM radio, not as sensitive as my Heil headset but at approx. 1/6 the price they are well worth the money. Build quality is ok but a bit flimsy in comparison to proper communication headsets , the frequency range of both the microphone (electret) and the speakers are a bit wide for communication use (no need for hi fi here) but they are designed for computer use which they will be fine for. The ICOM radio can easily be adjusted to restrict audio bandwidth, If I break them I would buy another set :)

Computer headset.
Looking for a good quality headset for use with my PC as my existing ones were overdue for replacement I found these. Good sound and microphone, comfortable to wear and a good price. As usual Amazon came up with the goods and delivery was quick.

A Snug Fit
I bought these headphones primarily to use with speech recognition software, and I'm pleased to report they perform very well in this area, with the microphone picking up words accurately. Sound reporoduction and bass are good. The headphones are a little tight on the head and ears and can feel a little uncomfortable after a while, but then again, I do have a big head, so it may not be a problem for others:-)

Need a headset for Ham Radio? Look no further
I bought the SP40 after reading all the reviews in the ham world for my new FT710. You need the SP40 for Yaesu radios as the SP45 wont work. Also I didnt fancy spending the £200 + for the named brand items. This headset is super comfortable and the mic construction and boom is top quality. I am so surprised at how good this set is for the money.I also purchased a pack of mic wind coverings to stop any popping and breathing noises.Well worth it.73

Fantasic but horrible wiring
The headset itself is great, great sound quality (good basses AND good trebles) and very comfy and light for extended use.Unfortunately the wiring going into the cup is incredibly weak, I kept snapping my wire on my chair/feet, ended up going through about five of these headsets over several years before finally giving up and buying a Plantronics headset instead

Great for Yaesu Amateur radio transceivers
It appears that a lot of Amateur Radio operators are buying this headset as a replacement for the likes of Heil communications headsets. If you're thinking of buying this I can say it works VERY well with my Yaesu FTDX10, it sounds the same as my Heil Pro Micro which has died the death after only 4 years. You will though need the correct cable interface and a PTT pedal or foot switch. I use the Heil AD-1-AR from my old Heil headset. This headset is fitted with a dynamic microphone so I'm not sure if it'll work with Icom which require a electret mic element.Audio reports I'm getting are excellent, the headset is comfy IMHO, the cabling seems a bit thin so be careful and tidy up the excess with the wraps supplied as it may snag. You'll also need some foam covers for the microphone which can be bought on Amazon (I used my old Heil one.) All in all a much cheaper replacement than Heil or similar for a third/maybe quarter of the price.

Didn’t last long
Initially worked really well and was very pleased with the headset, however after 3 weeks I found that the hinged microphone started to cause issues with the sound in the headphone. I think the wires may have broken inside from regularly rotating the mic up and down.I attempted to open them up to fix them myself thus invalidating any warranty, which was a mistake as they are a sealed unit. Now in the bin and very dissapointed.

The SB40 is a great headset - I'm using mine with radio transceiver
I'm using my headset with an FT857D amateur radio transceiver. The headset works well and I get good reports of audio quality. I like the mic boom as it allows the mic to be positioned correctly in front of your mouth. It can also be swung up to let you take a mouthful of coffee then swung back down into exactly the same position without any fiddling. BTW the microphone seems to be dynamic, which is useful in non-PC applications as the headset needs no DC power.
