Works great and cheap.
I have 3 of these now and only 1 has given me issues with the timer. If you have a bad timer just return the whole thing. Do not replace the timer because all the other big name timers are total garbage. The only quality timer I've found cost 65$ and doesnt fit in the timer box with a battery. Luckily I know how to work sheetmetal so I made a box that will attach to the back of the feeder box to store the battery. Works flawlessly now.I've bought 2 of my feeders from academy and 1 off amazon. The one from amazon works flawlessly so far. Also, this is way cheaper than academy.TIPS-- DO NOT USE the alligator clamps unless you like reprogramming feeding schedules, or have issues with keeping schedules. It's all caused from loose connection. Buy some cheap insulated female spade lugs and use them instead of alligator clips. They will never come off easily.- Stake your feeder legs with T post tied to the legs so it doesnt get knocked over. Just hammer the post in low enough to bury the wings.- Put all 3 legs in and hold upwards pressure on the 3rd leg when standing feeder up. The other 2 legs should remain in contact with ground to prevent separation. Very easy to do solo without the tape trick.-Make sure to clean the feeder completely out when not in use. Some corn will not funnel down and the corn will eventually rot causing maggots to have a nice breeding area. Take it from me!

Works well holds a lot
Holds a lot of feed. Now after several months of use I can say it works very well except during a heavy rain the lid leaked where it connects to the hopper and all my beef got moldy. I had to seal the grommets with silicone caulk .

Tips
It's a good feeder. Only two real complaints but a few positives. 1 battery box is a little small and in all my feeders (I stick with this one to swap parts) the timer is always the first thing to go. It lasts about 2 to 3 years. Second thing to go is the plastic drum around the legs. To make it last longer slightly fill the holes for the legs with a bit of liquid nails and then put in the leg mounts. The loose fit causes fatigue in the plastic making the drum only last 4 years. You can cut out the leg mounts later and use them on a steel 55 gallon drum if you want. Lastly the replacement digital timer WildGame sells is awsome. It's a metal box and works VERY well. The whole evolution is I buy one of these, replace the timer 2 to 3 years out then when the drum is gone build my own out of a steel 55 gallon drum with the parts remaining. All you have to do is take the leg mounts and screw them to the drum, put a 55 gallon drum funnel in and the replacement timer on it and you have a very very good feeder.

This is a good value.
This is a good value for the money. Assembly is pretty easy if you carefully read the instructions. Fitting the legs together is a little vague but with some thought you can figure it out. The height can be adjusted from about 5ft to 10ft high by adding or leaving off sections of the legs. Just be sure to have it high enough that animals can't get to the motor and feed spreading mechanism. Mine will throw feed out to 30ft. You can set it to feed up to 4 times a day. Each feed time can be set to run 5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds. Setting the clock and different timers is a little complicated. If you know what times you want to feed and how long you want each setting to last, then it's easier to set up the timer before installing the timer in the unit. At least it was for me! Be sure battery has a full charge. My battery last about a month between charging, since I only feed twice a day with 15 seconds duration on each feeding. When you have to take the battery out to recharge, then you have to reset the clock and all timer setting. The clock mechanism does not retain a memory when the battery is removed. I think there is a solar panel you can buy to keep the battery charged. If you want to spend the extra money and go that route, it would probably be worth it in the long run. It's a real hassle for me to reset the clock and timers every time. Also it would be much better if the manufacturer made the angle of the drop shoot a little steeper, because when you get down to about the last 6 inches of feed, it tens to hang of the sides and won't empty completely leaving about 2 more days of feed clinging to the sides at the bottom because there is not enough down force pressure left to cause the feed to come through the bottom drop hole. Maybe that part could be designed a little better. It will hold a lot of feed. I usually dump 3, 50 lb bags in the top and there is still plenty of room for another half bag. Just don't know if the legs will support that much weight. It says it will hold about 220 lbs, but I wouldn't go much over 150. After all this thing is some kind of poly plastic, not steel.

Economical, but you get what you pay for
Pro: easy to assemble, inexpensive, the controller and spinner are just fine.Con: the drive nails used to secure the 2 halves leave sharp points all around the perimeter. The barrels on these have been more prone to breakage than others I've used.Deal breaker: the brackets used to attach the controller/spinner to bottom of feeder are flimsy, skinny pieces of plastic. You break one? Best of luck fabricating a replacement because you can't buy one.

Got for my chickens
I actually got this for chicken scratch. My chickens have a very large run probably 50x 40 feet, which is important to know as this shoots out at 30’ diameter. This is wonderful for if we have to be gone 2-3 days. They have feeders and waterers that last a week, but it’s nice to have this to still give them their scratch in the morning and a little in the afternoon.

3 cheers for the deer
Bought for my Dad for Christmas and he said it's easy to use and works great. It does spray the feed so make sure its not too close to the house or cars.
