That said, I'm always open to new ideas and I want to beef up my Western herbal resources. This is a no-frills Encyclopedia with all entries packed in a massive index format. Ailments, herbs, famous practioners, and formula ideas are all merged together in a single A-Z index. I am thrilled with the sheer volume of information and personality really like the condensed format. Not a good choice for those who like illustrations. And of course not all entries give depth, so I always crosscheck with my other books when designing a new formula (especially Holmes, who provides phenomenal information in the series I mentioned). I also love the broad scope of this book, as it pulls from different practices instead of only focusing on one. A definite gem for the serious herbalist. Also quite beneficial if you're just looking for ideas of natural remedies to try. It has so many uses from wanting to know about vitamins in foods, deficiencies and the causes, uses of certain foods and herbs to illnesses and how to treat them using a herbal method. As i cant take the book from my work as often as id like i brought this book from desertcart. I use it for revision and look though it from general curiosity. Its laid out very easy in Alphabetical order as you would imagine and is full of helpful information, although this book was written quite a few years ago, a lot of it can still be used today! Its a good price for something i genuinely need for work but its also something i can keep for years and show to others that would like to know about something related.
