Review: My new favorite Genesis controller - I have an extensive Genesis collection with games of all kinds, and I put this controller through the paces. It feels just right, from the quality of the plastic to the press of the buttons and the give of the D-pad. I love the classic 3 button shape, and this nails that to a T. At first I thought the three main face buttons sat kind of low on the controller, but having used it for a while, it's clear they went for equity of placement for all six buttons, and not just prioritize A, B, and C as the "main" buttons, with X, Y, and Z as secondary. The size of the buttons kind of does that already, no need to shove them up and out of the way. This is minutiae though, honestly. This is a great controller, the cord is especially nice in both flexibility and length, and I've got no complaints about it thus far.

The original 6-button controller isn't big enough for my liking. The 3-button controller only has three buttons (duh). Retro-Bit fixed both of those problems in one fell swoop and made what I believe to be the greatest Genesis controller ever made. Not only does it fit my hands pretty much perfectly, but the D-pad and buttons are also very tactile and responsive; really easy to tell which direction I'm pressing. It helps that it uses the 6-button D-pad, which has rounder edges and is more comfortable. The cord is also very long and very flexible, easy to work with and all that. The only complaint I have is with the start button, which is small and easy to miss, but that's just one flaw. Overall, this might just be my new favorite Genesis controller. Retro-Bit really outdid themselves.
