I put them in a reasonably sized container of water and it keeps my cat entertained for a little while. Haven't had them for too long. I am optimistic the batteries will last as they have a shut off after a while. You have to take them out and dry them to turn off the sleep mode to get them to move again.

My kids thought these fish were the coolest addition to our water table! They’re a decent price so I’m glad they could provide some fun entertainment! I was bummed one of the fish didn’t swim very long, maybe only a couple of times over a few days while the other fish has done really well! The colors are bright enough to see in the water and yet realistic to fish! Such a fun toy for kids of most ages! My one year old mostly wanted to put the soft tail in his mouth.

I wanted to love these so bad. I bought all the colors for my kids to play in their water table. At first they were amazing! I made sure to remove them from the water and dry them off every time they were used. I noticed they all stopped working around the same time and figured the needed new batteries. When I went to change the batteries however I saw that four put of the six had water inside with the batteries and two of those the batteries exploded. Not a single one worked after I dried, cleaned and changed the batteries. If I had know the poor quality before I would have bought another brand for cheaper. 2 weeks is all they lasted and they weren't even used everyday. My mom and sisters canceled their orders and I canceled my of the turtles fearing the same bad quality. I also noticed that they are said to change colors but they don't.
