look at all the reviews all was good very strong only thing I found is the turn arm if on wrong way cant shut the magswitch off it hit the metal then you have to pull it away so it will turn to off. sometime no room to move it away . that when you find out how strong it really is. lol

I work as a welder in a small fab shop, and I have found the magswitch products indispensable for my work. I purchased both the 165 and the 400, and use them routinely for set up work. The 400 is too strong and creates too much of a field to weld near, so it is used primarily to stablize pieces a couple of feet from where I'm running a bead. The 165 can be used in fairly close proximity to the weld area, as the field is not as strong. These models are not designed for high heat applications so I have to be careful how close they are to the bead, and how much heat I'm running. I usually work with thin wall square tubing so it's not that much of an issue as the heat isn't cranked up that high. I do a lot of metal cutting and grinding as well, and they help hold pieces when clamps are not possible or effective. The ability to turn of the magnetic field makes them easy to clean. They aren't cheap, but if you work with metal on a daily basis, they are worth the money. Great product!

après avoir acheté bon nombre d'aimants de soudure et avoir été très déçu, je me suis décidé à dépenser un peu plus pour celui ci : Bien m'en a pris, il correspond tout à fait à ce dont j'ai besoins…

Habe bei Umzäunungsarbeiten diesen 400er und noch 2 ander Grössen im Einsatz gehabt. Zwischen 2 Formrohr-Steher wurden 3mm Stahlplatten verbaut. Magnet ist kräftig und hat eine handliche Grösse dafür. 2 Magnete tragen ein 2m langes Winkeleisen 30x30x4mm zwischen 2 Stehern samt angeklemmten Masseanschluss vom Schweissgerät. Magnetwirkung ist allseitig und nach unten. Einzig beim Schalt-Knebel muss man aufpassen, dass der dann noch zum lösen frei gedreht werden kann.Sonst hat man Mühe das Magnet wieder frei zu bekommen. Eine Seite ist länger und kann dann eventuell nicht mehr am Werkstück vorbei. Knebel Funktioniert grifftechnisch mit Schweisshandschuhen gut. Muss zum Schalten etwas niedergedrückt werden. Den neuen Schaltknopf habe ich noch nicht. Bei meinem Schutzgasgerät wurde der Schweisstrom beim Arbeiten direkt neben dem Magneten beinflusst. Ging zum Heften grad noch. Zum Durchschweissen dann den Magneten von der Schweisstelle weg und gut war es. Der 165er ist wirklich ein Winzling und für kleine Werkstücke wie Laschen gut. Der 600er ist schon eine Nummer. Bei eigeschaltetem Magnet ist ein herausziehen von einem zufällig eingeklemmten Schweisshandschuh nicht mehr möglich. Ein/Aus funktioniert bei allen grössen Tip Top. Also kein Restmagnetissmuss. Einsprühen wegen Schweisspritzer nicht vergessen. mfG
