M2 style or not this is the best price external SSD I could find. The cable that comes with is stiff but easily replaced. It is a SATA M2, not an NVME/PCIE M2, so you won't get crazy speeds. But for the price it's fantastic.I understand that Timetec is a subsidiary of Liteon, the DVD drive manufacturers, so I've been trying their stuff out and so far I'm impressed. Too soon to speak on longevity but at this time I consider them reliable budget products.

this drive is outstanding. its small, light, quiet, fast and 2TB. I am using it as a backup drive but I may purchase a second one for travel. highly recommend this item.9/11/23 UPDATE- The drive stopped working last week. I have changed the cord, tried other laptops but no luck. I contacted Timetec last week to request assistance but I have not heard back. I will report back on any progress.9/30/23 update- I contacted Timetec customer service about the issue. They sent a prepaid label to return the drive. A replacement was sent after the return was received.I’m back to work with this drive.Customer service is pretty good. Very prompt and clear replies.

Owned it for a month so far, and for a 2TB SSD this seems to be a pretty good price. Haven't had any issues. It's much smaller than I thought it would be (which is good) and it has a sleek design. Very happy with it.Windows will often say there are corrupt files or issues with the drive, then after it runs a brief scan it says no issues were found. Not really sure if it's a problem with Windows or the item itself but something worth noting.If you plan on using the cable that comes with the product, just know it's very short so the SSD is likely to just hang from the cord (again it is very light)
