Works great! Yale quality!
Straight forward installation. Programming a bit challenging. This lock works great. This lower cost model doesn't include the wifi card for connecting to a home network but it can be added later. So far battery life is excellent, daily operation problem free. If you bungle the code three times in a row the lock locks you out for a minute. The control panel and casing look and feel great. Important that after installation the locking mechanism moves freely. If the hole on the edge of the door was not drilled perfectly straight the lock may have to be mounted at a slight angle to compensate. In other words, when you look at the lock from the outside or inside the rectangular lock may not be perfectly straight up and down. With my old round mechanical deadbolt the skew was not noticeable (because the lock face was round). If you try to force the Yale to be vertically aligned it may put pressure on the deadbolt slider making it hard to lock and unlock. This will not work with a battery operated lock. It must have zero resistance when you turn the handle on the inside to lock it or the motor will work too hard and the battery life and reliability of the lock will be compromised. Note: I live in an older home with nonstandard doors. You should not have this issue with pre-drilled new doors..

Well-made, sturdy lock at a reasonable price
Lock was easy to install (directions however could be better with some text rather than just pictures) and connected very easily with my alarm.com security system via z-wave. I have the IQ Panel 2Plus interface which connected with the lock in a few seconds. Installation and programming together took less than 15 minutes. Excellent build quality and very nice to look at when installed!

Lovely and Convenient
I wanted to switch my deadbolt for a keypad so that I never had to worry about locking myself out of the house. I also was excited about being able to give codes to contractors or dog walkers on a temporary basis. One other bonus I have found with having this lock is that I can start my car on cold winter mornings and go back in the house for a while and not worry about fumbling with detaching my house key from my car key. A poor man's remote car starter as it were. This was very easy to install, it fit exactly in the deadbolt holes after I removed my deadbolt. I had first purchased the Schlage version but it stuck too far out from the door and prevented my storm door from closing. This one has a much narrower profile so it does not interfere with my door. The construction is very solid. The only issue I had is sometimes the lock would stick when opening it from the inside occasionally but another reviewer said that I may have over tightened the screws when installing it. I have had it for about 6 weeks now and it is working really well. When I first installed it, I had it set to play a sound when the keys were pressed and I also had it set to autolock. I have since turned these two features off because they were not as helpful as I had thought. The key pad is lighted and will flash when you press the keys so I prefer that over playing a note. The autolock will turn the bolt whether the door is open or closed so that became more of a burden than it was worth. It's easy enough to press 1 to lock the door after we are all outside. It is very easy to program and delete numbers, but not so easy that I have memorized it. I do it infrequently enough that I have to pull out the directions every time, but they are easy to follow. I have had several people complement me on the lock and one even asked for the name of my Locksmith so they could get one installed. "Amazon and Myself" was my reply. Update Aug 2018: I've had this lock installed since Dec 2015 on the main door that is used everyday and the lithium batteries are still going strong. I have both autolock and the sound turned off, but I am impressed that the batteries are still going strong considering how often it has locked and unlocked itself in the last 2-1/2 years.

Lock can't set itself, Z Wave doesn't work. Time Wasted
Thought I had a great deal getting a Z Wave lock from a reputable company on the cheap. But there's a reason it's selling for less than the cost of a non smart deadbolt from Schlage. First and foremost, I am extremely disappointed in the lock's inability to auto orient itself upon start. Being a "smart" lock, this thing has to calibrate upon start to see if it needs to turn to the left or right to lock the door (depending on your setup). My lock could never orient itself correctly and always thought it needs to turn to the left. This means the lock is essentially worthless, being unable to lock or unlock itself. Might as well use a regular lock at that point. Second, the Z Wave connection to Smarthings didn't really work. It shows up as a Light Switch. Yes, a Light Switch. To actually make it work, you'd need to get a specific driver from Yale. One guy on the internet makes one and you have to pay him money to use the driver. It was a dice roll and I didn't want test it out. So overall, this lock functions as a large regular dead bolt that also takes batteries. It's one of the most disappointing and time wasting product I've ever purchased, and I've had pretty good luck with electronics. Don't waste your time trying to set this up. The smart features in this old lock likely won't work for you, and if it does, your lock may not calibrate right, and no way for you to fix it. Spend more $$, get a better lock.

My parent's are older and we were concerned about access to their house in an emergency. I ordered these and they were great. Well made and very reasonably priced compared to other brands I have used. They were easy to physically install and the connected first try to my Smartthings hub. There is also a Yale app that you can use. Now, if there is an emergency we can remotely open my parents doors. We can also lock the doors if they forget or set them to auto lock. Very good value for money. The only drawback was that the batteries in the package were dead (in both of the locks I ordered). I was initially afraid they weren't working but luckily my parents had some spare AA batteries. When I put them in, the locks powered up immediately.

Good lock - extremely easy to install as long as your door fits the required measurements, especially the bore hole (we had to get a hole saw to expand ours). Easy to set up with codes and easy to use. Tapered deadbolt operates very smoothly. This lock is extremely convenient to use when carrying lots of items rather than having to keep a hand free for keys.
