We have a countertop ice maker at work that costs around $700. It makes the best ice, so I was apprehensive about buying a cheaper ice maker for my house. I definitely couldn’t afford $700, but I wanted a good one that made Sonic ice. I didn’t care about how loud it was; I just wanted chewable ice in a decent amount of time. When I received it, I followed all the instructions and made my first batch of ice—It was perfect! Soft, chewable ice in about 15 minutes! After about 30-40 minutes, it made two basket fulls of ice out of a plastic cup full of water. Sorry, I don’t know exactly how much water. Our plastic cups are regular drinking cups if that helps? I like to start the ice maker and then do a chore like cleaning the kitchen or something. By the time I’m done, my ice is ready and perfect! I read a review where a buyer said if the add water light comes on, it’s faster to add water and turn the maker off then on again like you’re starting a new batch. That was a great tip. I’m the only one in my house who likes ice, so it’s perfect for me. The ice doesn’t stay cold in the bin, though, so if you leave it sitting, it will melt into the water reservoir and start the process of making ice again. It’s not like the one at work where it’ll have ice waiting on us when we come in Monday morning. If I could afford it, I would buy it just for the convenience of not having to wait for ice. The ice from this one tastes and feels the same as the expensive one. This ice maker is perfect for me and I’m glad I took a chance on buying it! I’ve only had it a couple of months, so I’ll come back and update once I’ve had it for awhile.

Having ice is a must have lol. This makes ice super fast. Only issue is the inside isn’t refrigerated so as it fills you have to transfer to the freezer but the ice will be “moist” what you will end up with is a giant chunk of ice. But not a huge deal. Few wacks and you can break it up

This little workhorse is my favorite kitchen tool! If you’re stuck in an apartment with no ice maker… buy this today!! It’s a bit noisy, but I only make ice until my bucket in the freezer is full… Then off it goes. I leave it on when entertaining and nobody has said anything about the sound. And nobody is mad that we don’t run out of ice.

I enjoy not having to purchase ice bags for simple drinks or mixtures at home.What I do not like is the fact that it does not utilize all the water in the basin. If it is below a certain measurement, the water will remain, or you have to pour it out.Obviously to prevent mold you pour it out. It's not quite old enough for me to get rid of it and start looking for another one but eventually, I will.

I am an ice snob, I love it, I need it. Unfortunately the universe has decided I should never be blessed with a fridge with an operable ice machine. I’ve been through 4 fridges and not one time has my ice machine actually worked. It’s a cosmic joke at this point. I bought bagged ice but my husband always stole it for his cooler. After pondering throwing hands a couple times I decided to treat myself, avoid the charge and purchase an ice machine.I would not call it sturdy ice. It does not last very long, melts pretty quick and easy. The basket is not terribly large so you are getting enough for two glasses before needing to wait for it to refresh. It works pretty quick so that’s not terrible. And it’s easy to clean. I’d say good for camping or mild/moderate use
