Endgame: Samuel Beckett

Would recommend.

This play is part of the "Theatre of the Absurd" genre, and I can tell you that it really meets that standard. It took me a few reads to try and so much as start to understand what was going on in it. I found aspects of the play to be very funny and the characters all have their very own quirks.

This play was not for me. That's all i can say about it, 'postmodern' and all that.

Read it a few times because the stage directions are important. I have seen this performed in Dublin, superb! Not as well known as it should be, probably because of all the "correctness" in the world.

It's a must read.

Need it for the college class))

Personalmente non mi è piaciuta l'opera. Oltre a questo il libro si presenta bene di buona qualità, ma 11 euro e passa per 80 pagine è davvero troppo. I didn't really like the opera. However the book is well made, but more than 11 euro for just 80 pages is pretty expensive.

It is an absolutely fabulous play - it touches on every human emotion.

A richly absurd masterwork of existential theater. Although this is only existentialist from a certain perspective. As Adorno has argued, Beckett was preoccupied with a confrontation with existentialist ontology-this work is the negation of existentialist thought via `subtraction,' which is to say that Beckett subtracts from the raw materials of ontology and presents their non-sense as sense. After an implicit event of annihilation, the characters of his tragedy play out the impossibility of any reconciliation with meaning. Beckett lives in the world of non-sense, and for many, this play is incomprehensible. And it should not be interpreted. It is simply the presentation of man's reconciliation with absolute alienation.
