This is a small sweet figure of a (Mourning Dove). The subtle mix of colors on its feathers is very good. It has that sweet touch of a charming dove. The lovely sound of their cooing is very pleasant. This little bird makes me smile and I think it will make you smile to. Very good price for this little dove.

Nothing to dislike. Great art work and paint job. My reason for buying was simply to remember my Dove's simple act of thankfulness. You see one night when the sun was going down, birds usually eat their last meal before heading to a certain branch on the tree to spend the night. I have a close relationship to the animals on my property. They all know me and I feed them even in the worst of weather because we don't stop eating just because it is a dreary day. They appreciate food too during those times, in particular so they won't struggle to find food during that period of weather. So I have a habit of checking outside onto my deck because that is where they all congregate to have their meal. Except for the Groundhog that went back to where he was born under the shed. He is the only one left from his family. So as i was looking out at Dusk, I thought the squirrel feeder was full because it was dark inside, then I saw fluttering. I turned the deck light on and it was a Dove that had gone in head first and couldn't maneuver back out of the pickle jar that was used to put seed and peanuts in for the squirrels. If you really think about it, her body is rather long compared to other birds and they can fly but it is a little more awkward due to their shape. They are a Ground Feeder and Ground Feeders aren't found on a bird feeder either because of their shape. When I saw her in the feeder, she started fluttering all the more to let me know she was in trouble. So I tried to calm her down and guide her out of the squirrel feeder. It would have been easiest if she just backed out, but maybe her feet weren't made to do that. She instead tried to turn her neck. That concerned me, but she did ok and then even managed her whole body in that direction. When near to the opening, it was easy to help her out. She fluttered like crazy away to her usual spot to sleep in the tree. I could see she would be just fine. She was shaken up, but did really well. So that night onward, I took the jar out and left the feeder to put food in it for birds of her type. She had lots of friends and the next evening I had over a dozen on my deck. That was ok, she seemed to let them know this was a friendly place and they could get food there too if they were ever hungry. Most had mates, that is why there were so many. I was pleased that she felt safe enough that she could come back and eat, and she brought lots of friends. So the next day, I peeked outside later and saw something on the deck floor fairly close to the feeder. The Dove left me a pinecone in Gratitude. I knew it was her and she did another time as well. Now some people could learn a lesson from her example. To this day she visits me everyday and she eats out of a Beautiful stone Dish with frog on it . I can put seed or water in it. It is the perfect dish for her. I have a circular one she eats from as well and another one that was a planter that I used for the Squirrels instead of their old feeder. It is like a troth you might see for a farm animal or even on a grave site holding flowers. To me I used it for a planter. to use on the deck. It is really heavy so it would be hard for it to move during a rain or wind storm, or winter storm as well. I put peanuts in first and then cover them with seed. I think it is hilarious to see her in the planter eating seed and her friend waiting her turn. She looks quite funny sitting in it. Most of the Squirrel families that came have not got families of their own, the only one that really stays close by is the Female one that has babies of her own. Her Brothers still visit and I recognize them playing together as they did when they were younger. So the Dove gets much more time in the planter than before but also has their own feeder as well. I'm alone with one Parrot, but having all of the animals outside visiting gives me a lot to look forward to seeing their antics and I amaze at the way Squirrels just leap to other branches like they do. They are so silly too in the winter moving their nose through the snow to find peanuts they dug into the ground. But I now have a constant reminder of that precious Dove I rescued from the feeder and her gratitude by leaving me the two pinecones. So my Dove now sits in the middle of two pine cones and she makes me feel so good about helping her out.

So beautiful and life like. It’s just a little smaller than a real dove
