Easy to use, no mess.
I needed to colour my grey & white super king sheet and after using the reviews on Amazon, decided to use 2 tubs instead of the recommended 1. Easy to use, remove outer packaging, put into the machine, wash and put the plastic container in the recycling.Very happy with the result, maybe overkill using 2 for the one sheet but would rather not have streaks all over it.

Following the instructions perfectly will not prevent your things from becoming ruined.
Great that it’s as simple as putting it in your washing machine.. that’s the only positive. It doesn’t take to all fabrics. I wanted to dye my light champagne gold curtains to grey. The top of the curtains are velvet and they came out dark charcoal. The colour took well, except for one big discoloured splodge but not too noticeable when curtains are hung. Not sure what fabric the rest of the curtains are, kind of a metallic threaded linen effect- they didn’t take to the dye at all, came out the same colour they went in except with grey patches that have ruined them. Curtains were washed before hand as instructed and I followed instructions perfectly (weight of fabric etc).I have a light coral pleated skirt that I hardly wear because of the colour, so thought I’d throw that in too. Normal material skirt lining with chiffon skirt. This didn’t take at all either, just came out a duller colour than when it went in, but with small deposits of grey dye marks on the inner lining- which of course you can see through the chiffon. So totally ruined, as are the curtains.I’m £15 out of pocket for purchasing 2 packs of the dye (I didn’t notice the big mark on the top of the curtains used in the first load so also used the second), and now have to buy 2 sets of curtains as they are for an extra wide window and double doors- the whole wall of my lounge, so will not be cheap. Also the mess in the washing machine.. obviously you need to clean it out well afterwards, but don’t forget behind the rubber drum seal as well as the front and inside the rubber. It’s messy. It gets everywhere. I cleaned the drum seal as best I could and put it on empty for 3 hot cycles, and even then I only washed cloths and towels as I was so worried after losing all trust in this product. Tbh, it’s just not worth it.Very disappointed tbh.. did everything as instructed and thought long and hard about wether or not to risk it after seeing other reviews, but thought maybe they haven’t followed the instructions perfectly- which I did. Wish I hadn’t have bothered. If it’s something as simple as using the black dye to vamp up faded black jeans then I’d say go for it to save you buying new pairs, but be prepared to have to really clean out the machine afterwards. For anything else, I wouldn’t take the risk. This was my first and last time using this product.

Disappointing Colour change.
I have used Dylon for nearly 30yrs and have never had a problem, however this time using "Smoke Grey" I was disappointed with the end result. I had 6 Towels I wanted to change from a Brown colour. Firstly maybe my own fault, I only used 1 pod for 3 towels and it didn't come out great, so I purchased more to do again and to add 2 pods for 2 towels each time. Unfortunately, all 6 towels came out a different grey, some with a hint of green/blue colour patch on them. For what it has now cost to buy so many pods, I probably could have bought new towels. However, in hindsight, I probably should have used 1 pod per towel, so wasn't a great colour change - as in Brown to Grey.I have previously used, Navy Blue for jeans and T-shirts. Black for Jeans, T-shirts etc and all came out looking brand new. Today I will be doing my Jeans once again. There is nothing wrong with Dylon, it's a brilliant product and I will continue to use it, I just believe the colour change wasn't great. For the price of the pods, you could certainly colour a few items of clothing and would work out cheaper than buying new, so is good value for money.I guess, just don't skimp on adding more items in the wash than stated and for larger items, certainly empty the pods in the washing machine drum rather than leaving in the pods.
