Lezyne Super Drive XL LED Front Light

My light looks great and offers a lot of nice features (rechargeable battery, water resistant etc.) but there is just one problem: it doesn't work. At all. After fully charging the device it would only turn on for ~1sec and only if it was plugged into the USB port on my computer. No combination of holding for _ seconds would get it to do anything. While this is a bummer, what is really irksome to me is that I politely emailed the company twice to arrange a replacement and received no reply after waiting more than a week. This is advertised as a premium light but my experience with their customer service and product quality wasn't anything of the sort. Maybe my experience is anomalous but BUYER BEWARE.

The first one I got was faulty, but Amazon let me have UPS pick it up and sent me a new one that works great. The light is REALLY bright, almost to the point that I know I'm probably bugging the cars or pedestrians coming the other way on the other side of the street. But I really feel good about the knowledge that I am very hard to miss both around dusk and in the dark.This thing really does more than visibility though. It does a fantastic job actually lighting up the road where you are going even when there are NO other lights around. And far enough ahead that I still feel pretty ok going fast.

I bought Superdrive XL after being very satisfied with former Superdrive. Now I'm using both, but XL is not my favourite. Yes, it is shorter than former model, but also significantly bigger in diameter, so it in fact it feels more bulky. XL has a bit brighter (stronger) beam, but it's operational time is noticeably shorter. As both use the same type of rechargeable battery, probably this is a cost for extra lumens (I even accused the battery - I swapped them - but the result was the same). XL has a charge indicator with changing colours Green->Orange->Red that should provide better estimate of remaining energy, but in reality it turns Orange quite fast, so there is not so much help. I also found SuperDrive's mini-USB charging connection more reliable than micro-USB on XL. So, it's nice and bright lamp, but not much progress.

This light is great! What made me buy this light over others that I researched is...-it has an all-aluminum construction-it has a simple design that seems robust and like it may be more reliable than others-it has a replaceable batteryAfter using it for a couple months, I can say it was a good decision. It is very bright - brighter in fact than I am comfortable using when facing much oncoming traffic. I generally have it set a bit low so that it's not directly pointing into people's eyes, or just use it on a lower intensity. I have another light that I use all the time in flashing mode (for me to be seen), and this one I use just for when I actually need to have visibility in a dark area. Because of it's brightness, or course, it requires fairly frequency charging. It charges through USB though, which is very convenient. Once note about the USB charging - the micro USB socket is a bit recessed into the housing (probably so that the removable rubber water/dirt cover will be able to stay on). This makes it so that not all micro USB cables will fit nicely. (It comes with one that does work though.)I love the mounting bracket that this light comes with. It is simple, sturdy, and has this swivel feature that allows it to pivot a few degrees in either direction whenever you want to make small adjustments.

This light has a solid feel and a nice bright beam, but serious issues. On a full charge the battery indicator goes from green to red after a few minutes of use and it has been like that since day one. Secondly, the on/off switch has failed after maybe 10 charges. It intermittently works if you put your entire weight into it. Lezyne customer support has not responded after 10 days.

I was so excited to use this light when it arrived. It had great reviews, looked amazing. But when I plugged it in to charge - I noticed after 10-15 mins it said it was fully charged, which I thought was odd. But I kept it charging into the night. The next day I tried turning it on and it went on for a second then shut off. I tried recharging it again and the same thing happened. I wish it actually worked instead of having to return it. On the upside - the customer service was very friendly with the return.

Extremely bright light. Am glad I went with this instead of their heavier, two lens light as I mainly road cycle. This is plenty bright and has different settings so you can dim it or flash it. Be sure to aim it carefully as it really is brighter than car HID lights and you don't want to blind oncoming traffic.

I purchased two of these lights a few years ago and am very pleased with them so I ordered a third for my son. I received the new light, charged it over night and it did not turn on. Having had the same model for years, I could not make it turn on. I don't know if they changed the components or design but this is the second time this has happened. I returned it.

Poor product. It lasted only for one year, however I did use it rather infrequently, it then stopped functioning entirely.

Riassumo quelli che penso siano pregi e difetti:PRO:-costruzione robusta e di qualità.-luce: buona sia come uniformità di fascio che come potenza illuminante (575lumen; a paragone un classico cree XML T6 da millantati 1000lumen fà solo più luce in centro...)-la batteria è ricaricabile tramite cavo usb e, nel caso, sostituibile;-l’autonomia è nella media di questi apparati: da 1h30’ a oltre 4h; in modalità intermedia è rimasta accesa per più di tre ore.-resistente all’acqua.-tasto di accensione a tre colori per capire il livello di carica della batteria.-fissaggio al manubrio molto saldo (purchè collegato ad un tubo di appropriato diametro); nella confezione è incluso un ulteriore anello di ricambio.-regolazione direzione luce (dx-sx) anche quando l'unità è fissata; secondo me sarebbe stato utile poter regolarne anche l'inclinazione.CONTRO:-prezzo-nella confezione non è presente il caricabatterie, ma solamente un cavo usb da collegare a pc o alimentatore usb.-nel caso si volesse usare come faro di scorta (da tenere ad esempio nelle tasche della maglia) le dimensioni ed il peso non sonoesattamente contenuti.-la modalità overdrive (max. luce) si attiva in modo diverso rispetto alle altre.Sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto, ma dopo averla provata diverse volte sono dell'opinione che su strade non illuminate siameglio avere una luce più potente (direi almeno 800 lumen reali , con fascio luce più ampio...)

El que me ha llegado no funciona, en proceso de devolución. Aparentemente es de buena construcción pero pesa un quintal.

Cet éclairage est bien plus puissante que ma précédente lampe (Sigma Pro Led) et à le gros avantage d'être un seul élément lampe + batterie. Sont faisceau est aussi un plus large ce qui offre l'avantage d'également éclairer la route devant sa roue et pas qu'au loin. Le support de fixation est pratique car il pivote de gauche à droite, ce qui permet de dévier le faisceau lorsque l'on croise quelqu'un, je trouve ça plus facile que d'appuyer sur le bouton, surtout en hiver avec des gants.Le seul point négatif est le rechargement qui est un peu capricieux. Le cycle ne prend pas fin, par fois. La lampe est tout de même chargée, mais le témoin aurait dû indiquer la fin de la charge... Il est également possible de charger plus rapidement la lampe en la branchant sur un chargeur puissant (chargeur d'iPad par exemple). Ce mode rapide est cependant difficile à obtenir car le connecteur micro USB doit être positionné de manière très précisé pour ça.

CATEYEのVOLT300/700との比較でどちらを購入するか悩みましたが、この製品に使用されている海外規格の充電池の手持ちがいくつかあったので、既存資産再利用ということで、こちらの製品を選びました。　しかしスイッチの作りが悪く、オフロードや舗装の悪い所を通ると勝手にモードが次々に切り替わり、当然一番明るいモードになったりもするので、あっという間に電池が消耗して一時間もしないうちに消灯する状態でした。　結局、VOLT300を購入。こちらは上記のような勝手にモードが変わることは全くなく、最初からVOLT300を買えばよかったと後悔しました。
