Nice, gentle smell, seems to work well
I like the idea of a shampoo bar instead of a bottle. It is less waste, and we all need to pay more attention to not creating waste. This shampoo bar has a gentle smell to it, and I like this a lot.It foams nicely when I use it, and it rinses out well. However, my hair feels dryer than when I wash it with the shampoo I've been using for years.I actually like my hair dry, so I'm not complaining, but it does dry out my hair and I want to mention that. That said, over time I noticed that there was only one specific shampoo that kept dandruff away from my head, until recently. I somehow developed dandruff again. It's probably too soon to know whether this shampoo will help or not, but I'll add to this review later if it does not help.

Very drying
I have oily hair so I went with this one, I can deal with a little bit of roughness but my hair feels like straw. Even after conditioner and oils on my hair. Love the smell but I probably would not purchase again. I love the ingredients as well but too striping for my hair.

Very aromatic
I love the scent of this salvia and lavender shampoo bar. I also love that it is a handmade product with all natural ingredients. A small amount lathers up a bunch. I have fine, oily hair that requires frequent washing. When I initially used this bar, my hair was a bit too soft to style. However, the next day when I used my usual shampoo it was much fuller and shinier than usual. For me I think this bar will be great for me to use on days when I am not styling my hair, to give it a deep clean. I am retired, so I have a lot of days this happens.I found it lathers best if I simply rub the bar against my hair instead of trying to create lather in my hand first. This shampoo bar leaves my hair and scalp feeling refreshed and healthy.

Stay away if you have oily hair
I bought both the purple and green shampoo bars from this company… they’re both awful. They lather but it does take a little bit of work. After rinsing my hair felt squeaky, but in a bad way. I can’t explain it well, but it was hard to run my hand down my hair. When I woke up in the morning, my hair felt like it was caked with wax. My hair texture was heavy and crunchy from the shampoo bar. It’s the absolute worst my hair has ever felt in my life.I thought I was crazy, so I stripped it out using dawn dish soap the next shower. I tried both the the shampoo bars several more times and they were still terrible. My brush is even coated in the waxy substance.I do not recommend the green or purple bars… dish soap was better than these.

Smells like lavender and mint, strips hair
This shampoo bar has a really nice smell of lavender and a hint of salvia (a little minty). I have oily thick should length hair especially at the roots with dandruff flaking everywhere. I am hoping this does the job of reducing the flakes. This shampoo bar doesn't lather very much in my hand but works well when I scrub directly in my wet hair. I leave it in for a few minutes while I wash up. The scent is light. Since this is a shampoo bar, it cleaned the beejeezus out of my hair and it felt very stripped after rinsing out. I had to add conditioner to soften up my hair overall. After drying, I didn't see any flakes yet, but does start flaking within a few hours. I will use this for the next few weeks to see if it really works and update on the results.

Made Hair Unmanageable
I disliked using this bar for my hair. It lathered very easily in my hair while taking a shower but quickly my hair felt bad after using it. My hair felt thick, not very easy to pull apart, and felt more dry. It was more difficult than usual combing my hair and had just amount of difficulty the next day. Hours after using the bar of soap my hair felt soft but that just isn’t enough for me. The dandruff wasn’t removed and my hair doesn’t feel as silky as it usually would after showering. The bar is a good size and lathered my hair within seconds. The scent is a soft smell that reminded me a little bit of antibiotic soap. I didn’t really find anything appealing about this product and wouldn’t use it again. Never in my life has my hair felt like that after using something on my hair and I don’t want it to start feeling like that now!

Best for oily hair (it is drying). You do NOT GET the amount advertised.
If you have oily hair, this may be a great soap bar for you. It takes just a couple of seconds to get a good amount of soap onto your wet hands and that will be good for a cleaning. This soap CLEANS. If you have dry hair already, it’ll dry it even more. This is def. for oily hair, though the bar packaging itself does not say this (the listing does). I’d say 5 stars for the soap for oily hair. What annoys me is the listing promises a 3 ounce bar in the title…The title, at the time of this review is: Soap Factory - Organic Solid Dandruff Shampoo Bar for Oily Hair, Sage Hair Soap with Tea Tree Oil for Men and Women, 100% Natural, Organic Certified, Vegan, Sustainable, Handmade, Plastic Free, 3 ounce (Pack of 1).The packaging itself says 80gr +/- 5%, which is not legal in the US (in the US, soap MUST meet the full weight promised at the time of sale, not at the time of initial making before the curing process which evaporates off excess water). What I got was a 72.7 gram bar. This is 14.5% LESS THAN PROMISED in the listing. This is shameful. I mean, if you bought 10 gallons of gas but only got 8.55 gallons, would that be right? Sadly, this is the second soap I have ordered from this company and the first soap was about 8% underweight when I received it.This points to a systemic issue of this company ripping off their customers by giving them less than they purchased. To me, this is a serious problem. Five stars for the soap if you have oily hair. One star for the repeated lie about how much you are being sold. Three stars overall.
