Works great, but you'll also need a strop
I really liked the idea of these plates as I have many knives that I have "sharpened" over the years but those products never really worked that well. I saw these plates used in a YouTube video and figured I would give them a try. While they are quite thin, as another reviewer noted, they do work exceptionally well.I recently became obsessed with modifying a super cheap hatchet from Harbor Freight as they are well known as being dirt cheap and well made, albeit needing a few cosmetic and functional upgrades. My primary modification was to add a much narrower bevel to the cutting edge to make it more of a cutter and less of a splitter. This was easily achieved with some files and a rotary tool, however, re-sharpening the edge proved challenging with the equipment I had. That's where these plates came it. They allowed me to shave a consistent 30-ish degree edge to both sides of the hatchet through about 10-15 passes per side per grit plate. It was made easier by the fact I was able to use both hands to perform the work. Every other product I had used up to this point, I was only able to have one hand on the actual knife itself. After the careful edge work, I finished the edge with a leather strop and HOLY COW, the thing is now razor sharp. I could probably shave with it if I had to.These plates are great and I think I will get a lot of use out of them as they seem to manufactured quite well despite being on the thin side. The grip texture on the backside is a nice feature.

High quality, stiff backing, clearly marked.
These are higher quality diamond sanding blocks. They have the grit size clearly marked, and a stiff backing makes them ideal for sanding operations on delicate or sensitive objects. They will also adhere to a magnetic strip for easy shop visibility and access.

seems like good quality
works good to restore the edge and finish to a razor sharp edge. Just personal experience. If you are new to sharpening don't get extremely caught up in the angle of the edge. Use the angle that comes naturally as in slicing a thin slice, that way it is repeatable and easily duplicated, Allowing you to quickly refresh the edge.

Great item
These knife sharpening stones are great. I’ve sharpen more than a few knives to a degree I never had them before. I think they are worth the money I spent.

Good Value!
These little stones/diamond plates work well. I have a couple of D2 pocket knives on which I was having a hard time getting a really good, razor's edge.I've used these a couple of times now, followed up with a leather strop, and am able to sharpen my D2 knives to 'shaving sharp'.

Diamond sharpening kit
I've used these quite a bit to rescue dull damaged blades. They work really well and give me a very nice edge. Very durable, as I've sharpened 20 knives and 5 pairs of scissors. Using the various grits to deburr and hone the cutting edges is easy to do. I've recommended this set to several people as I think it's a great value to get a good product.

I am somewhat torn on these...
They work well and do sharpen but they are quite thin so you have to put these on a raised surface that will allow to sharpen properly. Also they require lapping oil which can get pretty messy. So I like them, but I don't use them much and use the water based sharpening stones much more often.

Good quality - Stiff, gritty, durable
These are well-designed for the purpose and they look sharp too.The metal plate is solid - does not flex under pressure. The honeycomb pattern looks great and is functional - provides a channel for the fine grit to slough off between the grit hexagons. You can feel the difference in roughness between the plates and after several hard uses, it is still about as good as new.The medium density foam on the bottom seems to provide a good non-stick base and provides a buffer to keep the plate from scratching a delicate surface, like wood.I used a bead of water as I sharpened and liked that this helped wash off the grit as I filed and moderated temperature, but it did cause rust spots to form surprisingly quickly. I don't personally mind - doesn't affect the performance, but you might - ruins the clean look.I sharpened a ceramic blade on these and it removed the material easily - which I see as a sign that the grit is likely actual diamond grit. Less hard grits cannot do this (and this was the main reason I got this set).
