I've bought this to lose weight and get fit again. The rope seems to be weighted about right for speed and responsiveness and the handles are comfortable,balanced and about the right weight. Being made from the best materials and well engineered means that it should last and be durable. I had a good skipping session on the decking outside and I was impressed with it. I had an old Reebok plastic one with weights in the handles and a plastic coated steel cable but it never seemed to perform all that well. I could never seem to get into a rhythm with it. I'm sure with practice I will be able to get really good with this one. Just for fitness and losing weight - I'm not for crossovers or anything fancy but I like to get up to high speed.

Have been jumping rope during lockdowns and went through several cheaper ropes on Amazon, all of which were not good for using more than 15+ minutes. This is because the ropes would constantly tangle or were made with cheap material so became distorted, or had cheap ballbearings do the rope wouldn't track correctly.This rope is absolutely perfect for my needs. The ballbearings are perfect and the rope tracks perfectly, it's perfect for long jumping rope sessions. The only drawback I have is that the handles are hard to hold when you are sweating, but taping them solves that easily.The only thing you need to do if buying this rope is put some time into setting up the rope length properly and trying different lengths. Getting the perfect rope length plus the great track on this rope makes it the best rope I've ever bought, and I doubt I'll change products. I have yet to test its durability as I have only recently bought it, but they were nice enough to throw in a replacement so I'm testing one without the protector and one with to see the difference.

I've had few jump ropes on Amazon around this price point and this definitely clears the competition when it comes to overall robustness.I will say the metal handles do have a fair amount of weight to them, so if you are doing some sort of endurance jump rope expect your forearms to wear out.I'm decent at jump roping with decent form and I still experienced this, helps with gains obviously but just worth knowing!

Great product. Handles are slim, ergonomically comfortable and a nice weight to them. Rope itself is just that, bit of a pain to cut down if you don’t have wire snips. Easy to assemble. Like the fact it comes with a spare rope and the Allen keys are hidden in the handles.

Nice rope, easy adjustment comes with a case too which good for travel

EDIT #2Another 3 star lost because 2 things1. The outdoor rubber protection is absolutely the stupidest thing ever used. It slides around too much, it makes the rope unbalanced and has an unnatural movement2. I feel the business has changed, normally receive cracking customer service from Ben himself, but last time I had to contact it was all very "automated or corporate" Previous issues/queries I got prompt and what felt like personal service.I could just be unlucky but have had two replacements in around a year. The pro rope has practically the same issues, after a while the bearing feels stiff. Whilst it's great to receive replacements in makes me ask the question "what's going on with quality control" Previous review couldn't beat it but now, I'm not so sure.EDITIt's losing 1* because I've had two issues with two replacement ropes. The bearing looks and feels loose. After showing it and asking other people they said the exact same thing. I have received a new one and it's performance is good. I have to remove a stat purely because of quality control. What started off as a love is now just another brand I think customer service is great product leaves a bitter taste, spec after rating it highly.From powerlifting to bodybuilding I’ve done plenty of exercises through my life, one thing I have never really put effort into and tried was skipping. So, I purchased a cheap skipping rope and found the rope would curl up and make it very hard and frustrating. Browsing Amazon one day I saw Beast Gear and thought “okay I’ll take a put”. MY GOD best punt I’ve made this year. I love my weights etc but this rope has made my cardio just awesome I get a huge sweat on and I feel like the calories are falling off. Key Points1. The set up was fiddly and I cut the rope wrong (human error) but I messaged Ben at Beast Gear and not only did he respond quickly he sent out NOT one but two new ropes an outdoor protector and screws. Clearly this is a very customer focused business.2. The rope handles feel durable even with my sweaty mits I find they still have just enough grip until my break after a few sets3. It comes in a nice little pouch4. I like having the tightening tool built into the handle so you don’t have to lug around a bunch of stuff if you’re taking it out anywhere.5. It comes with a lifetime warranty. Only found this out when I looked through the book few days after purchasing. Which gives a nice peace of mind should any trouble arise (unlikely) but I’m sure the customer service will be to the rescue.5. The rope itself is very responsive, I’ve yet to have to untangle it. It has a very smooth motion thanks to the well made handles and bearings. I haven’t tried other ropes but I’m yet to have the urge to either.Finally, the beast gear store contains a nice selection of ropes, wraps and other merchandise. I rarely write in depth reviews, but with the customer support and me finding a new workout which I miss when it’s a full test day I feel it warranted it.

Having gone through at least seven different brands/ types of speed rope I was recommended to try out this one and so glad I did. If you are a fighter or just wanting to skip rope to loose weight, this is ideal. Easy to adjust, very sturdy cable (and you get two spares so this will last years). Only tip is, take off the cable protector unless you are using this on concrete as it can cause enough drag that you'll notice it. I've purchased three of these now as gifts and everyone's loved the rope.
