The larger bags have better "meatyness" and larger peices
I am a big fan of Beyond Meat. They truly have revolutionized the market. I do use their products although I am not a huge fan of meat - even faux - most meals are without any "substitutes". I have tried the big bags of this jerky - got it from a local pharmacy so thought I would try these smaller bags in two flavors. I do enjoy a good jerky when I have a hankering. But I noticed that these smaller bags are VERY different from the big giant bag. First the meat is meatier and a bit moist in the big bag. The smaller bags are VERY dry. The larger bags have LARGE pieces of meat. The smaller bags have just smaller pieces of meat. I am also not a huge fan of the Teriyaki flavor - mush prefer the original here. And if you knew me - you would know that is weird as I love Teriyaki. Here the Teriyaki is MUCH tougher to eat and chew - far too much of a chore. So huge fan of the brand but will exclusively stick to the larger bags going forward. Wish they were available on Amazon - but only seem to be available through Amazon Fresh...

Fair option of the 4 I've tried
I have tried 4 types of vegan jerky. Here are my opinions:Louisville Vegan Jerky - 7/10 - Interesting flavors, some better, some worse, none bad. Softer than actual jerky. Overall pretty good. Soy based. Might buy these again.Primal Spirit Vegan Jerky - 4/10 - Bizarre flavors, some decent, some odd, some absolutely awful, and many do not taste like what they're labeled as. Very odd consistency, stringy yet also very tough, not at all like actual jerky. Wet / "basted" in the packet, soaked in liquid flavoring, sometimes drips out when opened. Hard to compare to actual jerky, more like it's own food type. Overall ... strange. Soy, gluten, mushroom based. Would never buy again.Noble Jerky - 8/10 - Good flavors, actually tasty. Decent consistency, sort of like very soft jerky. Similar to Louisville brand overall. Soy based. Have bought again. Best of the bunch.Beyond Meat - 6/10 - Closest consistency to actual jerky, chewy compared to the others. Flavors are charitably - bland, and uncharitably - not great. While the Primal Spirit brand has the *consistency* of shoe leather and flavors of nothing I've ever tasted before, the Beyond Meat brand has the consistency of actual jerky but at times the *flavor* of shoe leather. I'm betting the pea protein used in these does not help here. NOT soy based. Mung bean and pea protein based. Would not buy again.

It’s a struggle.
It’s like eating a salty leather. The flavor is good but the texture is not jaw friendly. Q: Was it good?A: Kinda.Q: Will I buy it again?A: Probably no.

Highest protein source of any vegan jerky, but poorly branded
Bad news: It tastes a little strange, simply because the label's really misleading. Beyond Meat has been struggling as a company with corporate raiders and lawsuits, so they pump out products without much thought. You could see this with the KFC beyond chicken and same here. The original should be called 'black pepper' or 'black pepper mushroom' and the teriyaki should be called 'turkey roasted garlic' or 'turkey caramelized onion'. Neither live up to the label they're given and the back side description just makes it worse - teriyaki should have sesame and pineapple, not garlic and roasted onion. Honestly they'd sell a lot more with the better flavor names. That said don't let it fool you - can't judge a book by the cover, looks can be deceiving.medium news: I don't like how there's canola oil and brown sugar in here, but it does surprisingly make it taste nice and work out altogether.Good news: I love that beyond meat finally came out with a product that doesn't require refrigeration. Really was waiting for this! Now I have it. So compact, snack size too - really awesome! It's so high in protein that you can forget the flavor and eat it just for that. Such brain food - I eat the teriyaki more to not think about what I'm eating. It's a great item to have by your computer when you have to think a lot.

Very tasty!
I am a vegan and it is challenging to find tasty snacks that don't have soy in them. These are a winner in my book! And they are soy free. I buy the larger sized bags now as I was going thru the smaller bags too quickly. Out of all 3 flavors available, I really like the spicy (for me, just the right amount of spice!) and the regular flavor. Never in my life have I ever eaten real beef jerky so there will be no comparison coming from me. If you are a former meat eater, let me say this. Going from any meat snacks (or food for that matter) to anything vegetarian or vegan, is NOT going to taste like meat. So, just get passed that.If you don't eat meat and are looking for a tasty snack that you can take on the road, give these a try. I also like that the bags reseal, which makes them easy to travel with.
