Great sound, fantastic customer service
The strings sound fantastic just as ordered. There was an issue with one string in particular but Rotosound got back to me quickly and I received a replacement within days. Excellent customer service.Would definitely recommend Rotosound and I'll be certain to check out their other products in future!

Smooth ages Bass strong sound right out of the packet
Classic Fender Jazz Bass I was refurbishing for a customer. He asked for these. N.B. I have heard that with the slotted classic tuners where you have to cut the string to length first that you should pre-bend sharply with pliers before you cut them in case the components slip and the strings sound dead- I can say I did this and on tuning up the strings sounded really great. Very “come together” by the Beatles vibes without all the faff of having a Hofner Violin Bass with flats on. The Fender J-Bass was still versatile enough to use for other styles.Great strings anyhow!

Fantastic!
I've been playing guitar nearly 40 years but still quite a bass guitar novice and have longed for that somewhat thick, thumping sound the likes of Paul Mcartney had and thought I'd gamble a bit on these strings and wow, they don't dissapoint.Never have I bought strings and heard such a difference in the sound, they have a thick, thumping bottom which still manages to sound clear but is never over-the-top and I think will sound great in any mix. Thonk of the likes of Come Together and you've got the sound. (As a disclaimer, I'm not sure he used Roto's on that but they certainly replicate the sound!)On top of that they eliminate handling noise and are beautiful to play and manage to stay in tune despite being brand new. Plus they look fantastic. If I could rate them 11 I would.(One thing though is I cannot speak to their longevity, as I've only had them a few hours - oh and I will have to file the nut down a bit as the G string is just sitting on top but I don't mind as I can't see me using anything else now)

These strings are excellent and a joy to play
These strings are excellent and a joy to play. I have them on my P-bass. The bass did need a set up once the strings were on - the nut slots needed widening to accommodate the higher gauge, the truss rod needed slackening off due to the lower tension of these strings, the pickup height needed altering; but after a few minutes of work the bass was good to go. The sound of these strings is "BASS" thick and heavy, the treble is clear - more than a set of standard flats, and there is plenty of sustain. They have a natural, woody - perhaps "organic" tone to them as there is a lack of metal-on-metal that can be found on standard strings. These strings really suit palm muted thumb or pick playing, but fingerstyle is so much fun as these strings feel great to play. The smoothness of the nylon eliminates any finger squeak and the lack of overtones and harmonics that can be found with roundwound strings make for a very even response. It is possible to run the bass through an overdrive pedal to boost the mids and add a little grit to the sound. A little more care with the fretting hand may be needed when using these strings as the low tension makes them floppier than standard strings - it is easy to bend them out of tune when fretting. These stings may not be the best for aggressive bass styles like Punk or slapping (although it is possible to slap them - you just won't sound like Flea!) but they are good for Blues, Rock, Jazz, Reggae, Folk etc. As I have already said they are great to play and I have found since having them on my bass I have been playing more through sheer enjoyment. They lose a "star" because they do require some bass adjustment.

Exceeds my expectations
These are probably the best bass guitar strings I have used to date. Naturally warm sounding, they can be amp or other Di affected perfectly. I think de these on my fretless Fender PBass. Not looking back anytime soon.

Just the sound I was looking for.
I wanted strings that would closely emulate on my Dean fretless acoustic/electric bass guitar, the sound of an upright bass. I had a few problems getting the ferrule on the E string to stay put as the strings are very thick do not bend easily as they enter the guitar body behind the bridge. Consequently, as I tightened it, the string was pulling the ferrule out. I filed the ferrule slightly on one side to achieve a better fit and that seems to have done the trick. Lovely tone to the thick black strings and nice smooth action producing just the sound I was looking for.
