Yes it can be used after the glue has dried. As the roller is mainly to knit the carry pile.

Q: Can the two side rollers be removed to just leave the centre section as I want it for different use other than the intended one.

You can remove individual disks.

Q: would this work on a matted shag pile rug

No. This is specifically for pulling together two edges of carpet & hiding seam. You need a Shag Pile Rake. You should find one by doing a Google Search.

Q: Is this intended for taking flattening out of carpets. Any use for berber type please?
