In brief....
In brief...Blu Ray - lovely image, amazing sound...Alien - The 'go to' film for horror /sci fi/thriller/drama..Aliens - Guns, monsters, guns, monsters, repeat...The 'go to' sci fi action film.Alien 3 - Could have been titled "If Alan Bennett did sci fi horror...." (but sod you anyway, I really like this).Alien 4 - err....okay....If Alien was Sofia Loren smoking a trendy cigarillo whilst sitting outside a sunny French cafe in the old part of Paris, Aliens is the 80s drag act Divine (brash, over the top and yet strangely entertaining) and Alien 3 being the oddly attractive 40 something female librarian from the north of England...you don't know why - but is pleasant in some unfathomable manner then Alien 4 is the tired old whore from the docks who has given up trying and is just doing it for the money..she's pretty awful if you look closely but - hey if its late and there's not much else about, then I guess it's passable.Prometheus - As Alien 4 but with better lipstick. The extras (well who cares... go do something useful, make a coffee, sandwich, juggle a penguin or two....)Far scarier than any of the above is the speed at which this was delivered - under a day....am starting to suspect this is all a psychotic episode and I'm actually in a special hospital somewhere in the late 80's...

Superb box set
For starters let me say I love the Prometheus film, perhaps my favourite film of all time. For me it's great that it opens up more questions about the Alien back story than it answers. If the film answered everything, then there might be less chance for further sequels which would be a BAD THING! Visually the film is stunning and I don't understand people when the say the plot is lacking or the characters are not logical. I would answer that humans are rarely logical anyway. I think the plot is fine. The box set itself is very nicely put together with a booklet of artwork from Prometheus and a T-shirt, A4 poster of the engineer by Detifoss in Iceland (the waterfall scene) and some post cards.I've watched the Promethus blu-ray and again with the Ridley Scott's commentary which was enlightening in a few places, but he doesn't give everything away. As far as I remember the cut of the film is identical to the theatrical release. There are a bunch of deleted scenes as an extra to the disc but there is no way of watching the film with those added in. I haven't watched the other alien films yet, so I can't comment on those, but I'm sure they have the same high production standards. All in all, delighted I bought this box set.

Hours of Alien-ating fun
Worth getting this boxset to watch the Alien films back to back and observing the threads that run through. It is, however, frustratingly missing Alien Covenant😊, leaving it somewhat incomplete - the gap between Prometheus and the first Alien is palpable. This is a minor grievance, however, and should not be taken too seriously. This is after just rollickingly good entertainment. Each instalment is a glorious embodiment of the decade in which it was made. Ridley Scott's Alien (made in '79) is tense, subtle and focuses on the claustrophobic, paranoia-inducing confines of space, with a tangible fear of what you don't see. Ian Holm (pre-emptively echoing fassbender's David) gives an eerily convincing performance as the ship's (spoiler alert) resident murderous cyborg. James Cameron's Aliens is an 80s extravaganza: bigger and brasher, with larger aliens and more of them (a plethora in fact)...noise turned up to 11. It is absurd in places but all the more fun for it, replete with the director's signature wooden dialogue and camply OTT action sequences. Curiously many of my friends cite it as their favourite (being the one they came of age to, illicitly viewing on Saturday night tv), but on adult reappraisal they acknowledge it is artistically inferior but plainly more fun. Depends what you prefer. The third one, interestingly David Fincher's debut feature, is characteristicalky bleak and nasty (think Se7en's aesthetic in space). An interesting failure that again typifies many 90s tropes. Brian Glover turns in a delightfully malevolent performance, whilst Winona Ryder and a bald Weaver do their best within the script's limitations. Alien: Resurrection is a goofy but fun reboot (thankfully with sigourney weaver's gravitas to carry it along). I concede I haven't watched since it was released but remember it being sufficiently watchable, Prometheus - with Ridley Scott back at the helm - is a bit of a mixed bag but worth watching for Michael fassbender's TE-Lawrence-aping cyborg alone. In fact I did enjoy it more than most seemed to. It has some incredibly entertaining action set-pieces and some enjoyable (if questionable) performanxes from the likes of Idris Elba (who has bizarrely misplaced the fine American accent he honed for The Wire, and replaced it with something well...preposterous). Naomi Rapace is charismatic and engaging - the scene of her performing a caesarean on herself will be imprinted on my mind forever, for better or worse. Very post-Noughties. Again, Covenant (allegedly poor), could have made this boxset perfect. We were all hanging from Prometheus's cliff - tho it would be churlish to complain toomuch as Alien more than compensated. Hours of fun. Try and watch as many back to back as you can - it really plunges you into the Alien landscape. Would have awarded it five stars were if conplete and had a couple of the later efforts at least equalled the brilliance of the first two...

excelente set

Perfect way to relive these awesome movies in this EPIC box set. i love it.
I have to say I am a huge fan of the Alien franchise & this box set is amazing! All the movies look great. Spending the whole weekend going through everything and not stopping was epic.I grew up in the 80's and the Alien movies are something I could not stop watching because I loved the lore behind them. When Prometheus came out I was at odds with it because it was confusing to tie to Alien but now I understand how it can work together with Alien.I believe that in Alien that frist Engineer we see was the cause of everything going Worng in Prometheus, he could of not went along with wiping out humanity let the red become infected but in doing so was also infected and took the ship that we see in LV-426. The "Space Jockey" does not look like he died from a chest burster . He looks like he died like the others in Prometheus the ones you see with holes in their sleep pods.I digress, this box set is really worth getting on Blu Ray. You will not regret getting it. It works great on my Xbox One and my home theater system. You won't be sorry you bought it trust an huge Alien fan.
