To gain knowledge on how to look after fish

Not sure if this was appropriate for a 10 year old who was just setting up. Felt the book was a bit thin for the price paid.

I bought this book on the strength of its reviews, but was somewhat disappointed when it came. It is a very thin book and gives only a basic guide, but very little of real substance. It talks of the pitfalls of not doing things properly, but not how best to go about getting good results. ie:- If the water chemistry is not right - what exactly do you do and what products to you use to put it right? For kids setting up a tank for goldfish, it might be alright, but for adults wanting to set up a tropical aquarium for the first time it is all a bit too vague. Plus there are many spelling mistakes, which suggest it was produced too quickly. If you are serious about adopting this hobby, buy something more comprehensive, and preferably with pictures and diagrams which this does not have.

Great easy to read and very informative guide

Occasional use of the wrong words. Hasn't been proof read. (If a dyslexic like myself could spot the mistakes it must be bad)Makes you wonder if someone outsourced the research, and the writing. Felt like I was reading a collection of Google facts. If the price was more reasonable say 2 or 3 quid. I wouldn't bother complaining but a tenner is taking the biscuit. Could of done with some photos and illustrations.

I have just started with tropical fish and I found this little book very helpful. Its a good book. thankyou

Really disappointed when it came. Saw postivie reviews description sounded great. Its basic and pretty boring. Not inviting for a begginer. This was purchased as a birthday present for my father in law after getting his first tropical fish tank I'm embarrassed to give it to him. There's to much info small print really tmepted to send back for a refund.
