Great Printer; works with AirPrint and Mac
I bought this printer in May 2018 when HP were running a cashback and extended warranty promotion. After cashback it cost me around £100 in total and it has been fantastic value for money.A year later and I’m still using the original toner cartridges (occasional home printing) and I’m extremely pleased with the printer. This laserjet replaced an all-in-one inkjet printer that I’d been using 4 years. I was fed up with messy ink cartridges and waiting ages for the first page to print. I don’t miss the copying functionality or long wait for the first page! I now use Scanbot on my phone for scanning. This laserjet prints quickly, print quality is good, and it works flawlessly with AirPrint and my home wireless network.I configured everything manually because I have an IT background and have had absolutely no problems using the printer with iOS or MacOS.The only possible downside is the cost of replacement cartridges which I haven’t yet had to buy. I know with some other laser printers / models that compatible toner cartridges are much cheaper - but they still seem pretty expensive with this model at £100+. Genuine HP cartridges are really expensive for this printer.

Absolutely top notch printer
This is the third HP Colour laser printer I've bought, the two previous ones being the slightly older model M252DW. That one gets the Which magazine "Best Buy" award - and quite rightly. This new model is nearly identical but is slightly quicker starting up and during printing. It's quick - and quiet! The print quality is first class in every way with the option of "duplex" double-sided printing taken care of fully automatically. It's this that makes the printer a touch bigger than some competitors but not by much, and duplex is really worthwhile. The print costs are amongst the lowest, and, again are a Which "best buy" award if I recall. The original toner from HP is far from cheap, but we buy the "XL" packs which work out far cheaper and seem to last forever. I've never tried buying cheaper "OEM" since I had problems years ago with a Dell laser. That taught me a lesson - but it's possible OEM toners have improved. I would think so - but I'll shop around for the original. I've saved lots over the years waiting for deals here on Amazon, direct from HP and elsewhere.All-in-all if you are wanting to print in colour and are fed up with constantly refilling your ink-jet printer, you'll love the switch to laser. It won't print on photo-paper, it's true - that's where ink-jets score, but in every other way, this printer will impress, I'm sure.

A good buy
This is an excellent printer. Easy to set up either directly or through Wi Fi with a money saving bonus of printing on both sides. With the special offer from HP you can purchase this printer for just over £100. You need to ensure that you submit the Amazon invoice to HP in order to qualify for the current offer. The only downside is the cost of replacing the toner, but on the whole this is a more efficient and cheaper option than using ink jet if you are only print from home.

Easy setup, good printing
The setting up of this printer was very easy. Plug it in, turn it on and set up the wifi. I could then print from my Mac laptop and iPhone with no further messing about. I also added Google cloud printing. There is a touch screen to configure the printer but it's rather small and I wouldn't want to to do much with it. It is easier to configure it via the printer's own web server. There are a number of other methods you can also print with that I'm yet to try: HP provide their own cloud based service , you can also email the printer or plug in a USB stick. I'm not sure if I will ever use these but they are nice to have as an option. The print quality is good. The text is sharp and the colours are bright enough - for most home/offices I would think this is fine. If I was a graphics designer I think I'd probably need to pay substantially more more money for something a little better. As for photographs, some laserjets are awful, some are ok, none are great. I think this one falls into the ok camp. It's one of the better but still you're not going to want to print a picture for the mantelpiece with any office laser jet. Buy an inkjet instead. So far I'm very happy with the ease of use and quality of the prints. A good printer.

Get ready to pay the entire cost of the printer every time you restock the toner!
This is a decent printer (despite slightly inaccurate colours and the random calibration cycles it likes to do in the middle of the night) but a full set of toners from HP will literally cost you more than the printer! The high capacity black toner will cost you £80 alone.Oh and in case you're thinking you can use compatible inks, it looks like HP has now banned that.

Not as good as expected, not that economical and annoying to use
This doesn't seem very economical for a laser printer and ran out of ink pretty quickly. We then tried "compatible" toners and you could barely see the black even on normal print not draft so we've gone back to genuine toners. There are also lots of paper errors with it even though we're using A4 and all the tray and paper settings are on A4 but it moans that there are paper size mismatches constantly which is very annoying

Great printer at a very good price. Does double-sides so easily & the wi-fi connection is fantastic.
I wish I'd bought this years ago. It's prints decent quality and having it work over wi-fi is nothing short of miraculous.Gone are the days of dragging (in the very old days) the printer to my desktop or (nowadays) my laptop to the printer. Or trying to put whatever the document is on the computer connected to the printer and then finding you didn't have the right software on that computer for the printer. All that is solved as I can print over wi-fi!It does double pages so easily. The hours I've spent in the past turning over sheets of paper and then finding I'd got the order or orientation, or both, wrong and having to start again.A great printer for a decent price. I hope to have it ten years as I did my last HP colour laser printer.
