Yep, it's magnetite powder.I bought it to make a large quantity of ferrofluid (combine with engine oil). That works very well and it's a cheap way to get a lot!

Follow the instructions in the other reviews and you'll do great! We mixed 1kg with 1 litre of pva and prepared a 2m square wall with 3 layers. 6 layers in total held even the heaviest of fridge magnets. Covered with 3 layers of chalkboard paint and looks great

We used this to make magnetic slime and it worked fantastically!! Use gloves though!!

I tried to make a magnetic wall with this and it doesn't work at all. waste of money.
