Friends: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] [2002] [1994] [Region Free]

Ok, so another box set and it's all been said and done before. But there is no harm in that when the content is as timelessly funny and classy as Friends. And this is a much better box set than #2 (the red boxed one...). Finally some good extra content (although this is not essential viewing IMO), and a nice booklet. Nice transfer quality too: it's a breath of fresh air if as watcher of the show on E4 you suffer from it's sometimes poor digital signal quality.I love Friends. I've watched each episode soooo many times! And that's a sign of a TV shows greatness in my opinion - if you can watch it over and over. Friends are just that - friends. Silly, I know. But that's how you feel having watched them grow old and mature as people (like we all do). I've grown older with them and as a 90's twenty something it was my era (I guess that makes me biased).In truth series 1 is showing it's age, but the last few still seem very modern and fresh to my eyes. References to anything that may date the show have been kept to a minimum, and even the clothes they wear are still fairly contemporary.I wouldn't buy this if I already had one of the others, but I didn't as I've watched them on E4. But this aniversary one was too good to miss out on.Great show, great item.** Oh, and PLEASE don't make a film of Friends guys. Leave it's historical greatness alone! You can easily ruin a TV series completeness by making 'one for old times sake' - Remember Only Fools & Horses comeback anyone?..... Leave it alone Hollywood! It's just perfect as it ended.

I have owned the single DVDs for each series and collected as I went but decided to splash out on this 15th Anniversary Box Set. I received it yesterday and can honestly say it is money well spent. Not only does it come in a lovely presentation box but there are bundles of extras.1) All episodes are the extended US versions which means some people who have the single DVD versions won't have this.2) Each Series box contains 4 single sided DVDs which is a major plus. Previously the series was put on double sided DVDs and the labelling wasn't very clear. Now you get 4 discs per series.3) In addition to the episodes for each series you get extras on every single disc. I won't describe each one as they are listed on the Amazon product page. However, die hard Friends fans will be pleased to see that you get some great extras such as my favourites which are:-Gag Reels from series 1-4 and 6-10 (not sure what happened to series 5)Interactive Trivia gameAn hour long behind the scenes documentaryThe Friends stars thoughts as the final series comes to a close.4) You also receive a nice Episode guide book. The book details each episode with a description and pictures. You also get an additional few pages at the back detailing some of the more famous props.5) The DVDS come with Dutch and English subtitles.My overall opinion is that this box set is well priced and an absolute must have. The box set isn't too bulky so fits nicely in with other DVDs and also looks particularly nice in its presentation box.If you are a fan then order yourself one today....you won't regret it!

Comedy TV shows like Friends are probably many, and I've watched a bunch of them. But never in my life have I ever loved a TV show so much as I love Friends. It has absolutely everything and covers everything in its 10 seasons. I find myself quoting the show over and over again, in real life situations where I have to decide something or want to say something... I kid you not: there is so much "wisdom" (take this term lightly!) in the show: how to play a guitar, how to learn French, how good deeds are selfless acts (or not), how to make English trifle/truffle(??), how to solve sweaty leatherpants problem, how to break up with endless kinds of characters, how to ... yeah, I find myself quoting this show all the time. It's my "bible"!Every single one of the six main characters is awesome and funny - in a different way of course. And they evolve so naturally and seamlessly over these 10 years of their lives. Chandler and Monica are the perfect couple (who knew after the first few episodes :-) ), Rachel and Ross should be together, Phoebe has her life and Joey his career ... and they have all been through difficult times and daring times and good times ... it's life in its most truthful yet funny way.The six actors are perfectly cast - and even though according to personality tests I am most like Chandler, I find a bit of Joey, Ross, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe in me ... the writing of the show is brilliant! And all the supporting characters ... perfect!Thank you to the producers, writers, directors and stars of this most perfect comedy TV show I've seen!

The contents itself is good and I enjoy it.My version unfortunately was left out in the rain. Luckily it wasn't too damaged so I don't feel the need to return it as I got it second hand and for a good price.
