Maybe it works, I just can't tell.
I've used this on several spools of filament so far, and I haven't really noticed much improvement. I put a temp probe in the box and turned it on 50 C. I came back 4 hours later, and it was 42 C inside. I assume this is a calibration issue, so I turned it up to 55 C (highest setting), and it partially melted the filament on the side of the spool closest to the display panel. Not badly, but it appeared to have gotten hot. The filament on the opposite side was only barely warm to the touch. So I'm guessing it's a circulation problem. Now, I open it every 2 hours and turn the spool 1/4 turn.I weighed a XYZ printing PLA spool that had been exposed to normal air for 2 years, and it weighed 768 grams. After 12 hours at 50 C, it still weighed 768 grams. I tried printing before putting it in the box, and it was a stringy, popcorny mess. After "drying" it for 12 hours, and no change in weight, I tried printing again. It still strings badly, but there seems to be less popcorn sounds coming from it. I think that particular filament may be beyond hope.I tried a brand new Hatchbox spool that I printed about 1/2 of the spool, and it sat in the room for about 2 weeks. 930 grams pre-weight, 12 hours at 50 C, now it's at 927 grams. Maybe it didn't absorb much moisture in only 2 weeks, maybe my humidity is low already, though it is winter, the relative humidity indoors is usually around 35-40%.I use a food vacuum sealer and silica beads to re-seal my filament after use when I'll be storing for a long time. I bought these little temp and humidity sensors to put in the sealed bag so I can tell if it's too humid in there and I need to redo it. That Hatchbox spool that I dried and sealed up is now showing about 15% relative humidity on that sensor, so I assume it's working. Not sure if that is any benefit for the drier, or just the silica beads doing it.

Works well. Managed to restore my filaments that had been exposed to heat and humidity.
We have hot and humid days here in the Mid-Atlantic US. To explain my setup, I have a spool holder several feet above my printer, and I recently relocated the printer from my basement to my home office in the middle of winter. Last month, we had a warm spell with temps in the 80's and high humidity to boot. The printer wasn't even on, and one night while I was at my computer in my office the filament suddenly parted near the print head and vigorously rewound itself on the spool. This was quite surprising, and I knew immediately that the filament had absorbed too much moisture from our recent warm spell. (I like to keep my window open in my office.)I found this dehumidifier after reading some reviews, and got it several days later. Right now the humidity in my office is reading 57% on my in-house thermometer/humidity gauge, and the unit is reading 20% after having been on for several hours. The filament that previously broke has been positively restored to working condition. This thing really works.I feel it could do with some labels on or near the actual buttons, but since there are only two, it's not really that hard to figure out. Also there doesn't appear to be a way to turn it off once you turn it on, but I use a switched power strip to turn on/off my printer and it's Octoprint RasPi, so that's not a huge deal. It doesn't take long to heat up, either. Having to load the filament through the blue tube is a little bit taxing, but once you do it a couple of times, it turns out to be not that big of a deal. Overall I really like it.I'm pretty happy with this filament dryer. I knew printing in my office verses printing in the basement was going to be a concern, but this thing has nearly completely alleviated that.

Where's the manual?
I don't even know how well this product works because I can't figure out how to set the time. There's a quick start guide, but there's no text, only pictures. They seem easy enough to follow, however it's not clear on how to set the timer. Setting the temperature was super easy. There is a QR code on the quick start pamphlet that you can scan for the full manual, however the website directs you to a link you have to click on to download the manual. Clicking on this link does nothing. I've tried it on my phone, emailed the url for the webpage to myself to try it on pc. I've tried using incognito mode. I've tried right click > copy link address > paste into new tab url field. I just can't get the manual to load. I'll probably have to try to find it on a third-party website. Fingers crossed! I'll update my review if I can find a manual and give my two cents on how well it performs. I'm just disappointed that something that should be so easy is taking so much effort. :/Edit: Still can't find a good manual for this thing. Googling it just took me back to the Sunlu website, this time with a Google Drive link (which I thought was weird). If you attempt to download the file(s) from Google Drive it just downloads the quick start guide. BUT! I did figure out how to set the time so here's a easy break down of the buttons in case anyone else is having this problem.Left button hold: Toggles between temperature and timer settings.Left button press: Decreases time/temperature.Right button hold: Displays %RH (relative humidity)Right button press: Increases time/temperatureI hope this helps someone!

It’s much better than its predecessor
I’ve been battling humidity here in Florida with 3-D printing filament for years. I’ve tried many different types of dryers because of the price point decided to try the sunlu. Initially I purchased of first version it did not have the fan and unfortunately that’s a thumbs down. The upgraded version with a fan moves the heated air and helps force the humidity out of the unit is a great upgrade. Overall it isn’t the best out there because of the max temperature limit at 55 but the fan does allow it to work a little quicker and therefore I give it four stars. There are other dryers on the market that have been reported to work much better and I am also investigating those but for the sunlu upgraded it’s definitely something that I can use.
