This is my first experience with Vanilla Halva. It is dense and creamy similar to thick peanut butter. It is also sweet, nutty, with hint of vanilla. This halva melts in my mouth. However, when I chew it, there is a faint crunch and it finishes like candy. It gets stuck in my teeth momentarily before the sweetness melts away.I actually enjoy the flavor but I am not fond of the texture. I also like that its packaged well, it taste fresh, and it shelf stable or can be refrigerated. I also noticed that it has a long shelf life as noted on the dated labeled for 10/2023. Great quality product that definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.

As soon as I opened the plastic box holding the 8oz Halva I was immediately greeted with the familiar and mouth watering fragrance of peanut butter and chocolate. The first slice was not pretty but each following slice was easier to remove from the package intact. The texture when cutting is similar to fudge with a granulated texture speckled with crisp pops from the organic quinoa. As soon as I placed a piece on my tongue, it instantly was creamy and smooth with crisp notes and melted just as quickly. It really felt like a trip to Willy Wonka's factory as the textures changed so dramatically from cutting to eating. Despite including strong flavors like sesame seed, peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla, all the flavors came together to create a beautiful symphony of flavors. No flavor dominates and each specific flavor is distinct and clearly recognizable. It also was surprisingly not overly sweet. It was simply delicious. The Halva has a slight texture that is pleasant on the palate. I liked the swirl pattern I found inside the Halva as I sliced. This specific Halva was created in a partnership with cookbook author Molly Yeh. Halva can be sliced, spread, or scooped. You can eat the halva straight from the container, with bread, in baked goods, paired with yogurt or ice cream, or with a spot of tea or coffee. The product is made with incredibly clean and recognizable ingredients including organic sesame seeds, organic tapioca syrup, organic cane sugar, organic peanuts, organic chocolate (organic cacao beans, organic cane sugar, organic cocoa butter, organic vanilla beans), organic palm sugar (certified sustainably sourced), organic quinoa, organic Quillaja extract, organic vanilla extract, sea salt, and citric acid. I honestly had no idea what I was getting into with this product, but the flavors sounded too good to pass up. I am so glad I decided to try it! As I was trying it, the flavor and texture seemed familiar. It took me back to my childhood of having a Nutty Buddy bar. The packaging is cute, but I can't understand the box size since it had butcher paper in one side to fill it up. Maybe the company doesn't keep various box sizes, and this one could fit two. The packaging is cute and would be giftable, especially to a college student, but it can probably be less and still be as lovely.The texture is on the harder side and easy to slice with a knife. I ate it as it was without adding it to anything else. The price is on the higher side, but it is delicious.

I had never tried halva before tasting this product. It's pretty good! Very nutty, almost reminds me of peanut butter in flavor, with more of a fudge-like texture. The packaging is well-designed and the product inside is fresh. I don't think it will become a regular treat it my household, but I'm glad I tried it. You might like it too!
