Works as expected.
Bought to replace a similar item that I lost. It does what it is supposed to do, light up when a suitable voltage range is detected. It's also useful as a light duty non electrical flathead screwdriver. There's nothing not to like about this product.

It works
I tested this by jamming it into a barrel plug, touched my finger to the top metal 'cap' to complete the circuit, and a dim red light showed up. It could have been a little brighter but I think the combination of me being right next to a window and the voltage being quite low meant the LED looked dimmer than it could have.The fact it works is all that matters, and this is another safety line when working with electrics.
