It's a cheap, chuck away tar brush... And that's all a good thing
I bought three of these brushes to brush on some waterproof bitumen paint to decking posts and framework timbers (6x2), and they worked a treat, and for the cost, I just chucked them after each application.Even though the brush is bulky, and the bristles are thick... They painted it on great, handle is nice and long so your hand has plenty of room between it and the paint. Yes, there was a bit of bristle loss, but not bad if you ask me, and it calmed down as you used it... Why people are whinging about it has me baffled... It's a cheap brush, it's designed to apply sticky stuff, most solvent based, of course it's going to lose a few bristles... I mean, even "Lossless" more expensive brushes that are designed to put on emulsion lose bristles... Expensive roller heads lose some of the pile... So it beggers believe what they are painting to warrant such whining really... Are people out there painting bitumen paint or using these on their skirting boards or something? It's a tar brush, a cheap one... And pound for pound, a pretty good one if you ask me!!!

It’s a throw away
It’s a use once throw away , as long as you don’t expect to use again it’s ok

More robust than expected
I bought two of these in case the first one disintegrated before the job was done (applying 5kg of acrylic roof coating sealant to a flat roof over a box window), but it turns out that I could have done several times as much with a single brush if I'd had to. Maybe some people are wrecking theirs by trying to use it to extract the thick fibrous gunk from the tin, but I used a metal ladle for that instead, reserving the brush for actual brushing. That brush will now be ruined by the stuff hardening on it, and there's no way to wash it off (as you don't want to put any of that stuff down the drain), so I'll still need the second one to do another flat roof section maybe next year - no need to rush with that as the roofing felts on that one are in much better condition - but I now know that I'll be able to do that job without needing to get another spare brush.

Brilliant item and perfect for bitumen paint
Great Item and a must for applying any thick gloopy paint!!! Best to use this as bitumen paint will ruin your normal brushes

Good brush for spreading Tar on roof felt
I purchased this brush to spread tar on replacement roofing felt on a large shed. It did the job well enough being just the right size for me. Clearly working with Tar is messy so it is not exactly easy to clean. It was well enough made and overall I was happy with using it and this purchase.
