So far I've only used them on my Gotham blue steel lids. A tiny stretch to get the over the knob and they're secured. The top of the hat is a little poofy around the knob so you gotta get used to the feel of where the knob is. I love them!

I was constantly burning my hand while cooking when removing the lid from my pot. I would forget to grab the pot holder or kitchen towel to remove the lid with and it was getting obnoxious. I came across these adorable chef hat silicon lid toppers and my problem was solved!

This is just what I needed. Fits on the handle on the top of the cast iron pot that was too hot to touch.

These things are super cute. The main reason I ordered them is that I have an old Griswold cast iron pot lid that is glass, with a molded in glass knob that gets very hot when used. (And I use it all the time.) It's a little tricky to get a hold of it with a potholder, so I thought this might be a better answer. It would have been, but the base of the hole was not big enough to stretch over the glass knob. If I ever do manage to wrestle it over, it will have to stay on permanently. I would be a little afraid that it would come loose when I wash it and I would end up breaking my beloved glass lid. Then I was looking at my other lids and they all have a handle type like an arch, and they won't work on that either. So I am keeping them because I love the way they look and I feel like I will find the perfect use for them eventually. If you have this type of round knob on your lids, and these will fit it, they would be perfect.
