Excellent as a coal saver
Very well made and does the job as a coal saver. As soon as I put them in the grate I remembered that it’s what my parents had in there fire. Arrived well packed and in good condition.

Great item
Item as described and good fit for fire, bought as fire back was showing signs of wear and this item resolved the issue ( covered the wear ) and reduced the capacity of the grate so saving a bit on coal costs so win win

Not a good fit
I had a previous set from the same supplier - no problem. It fitted well and lasted for 5 years. This set had to be trimmed to fit. This was not easy and resulted in a cracked back brick which is now in two pieces. It will do for a while because I just fit the pieces together when in use but this is not as good as in the past.

They do the job
Early days, but these firebricks really do seem to reflect heat into the room (rather than up the chimney) at the same time as compressing the coal so that it burns hotter, depending on your use of the grates damper.I reconditioned my grate after my back boiler burst, so lighting the fire for the first time since April was quite a moment !
