BUILT TO LAST
I needed a three way garden hose splitter as I just added a utility sink in my backyard and I was already splitting my garden faucet with a garden hose and float valve dog water bowl. After reading a lot of complaints from other splitters breaking within a few short months, I decided to spend the extra money and get the ELEY 2-Way Brass Y Valve. I ordered/purchased the Valve on Tuesday 10/27/20 with an estimated delivery date of Nov 6-12. I'll be darn if the valve didn't show up just three (3) days after I ordered it via FedEx, (Friday 10/30/20). Given the valves weight, that was the best $8.36 I spent on S/H as far back as I can recall. I wasted no time removing the old valves and splitters I had temporarily hooked up so I could try the new sink, and replaced them with the ELEY 2-Way. I hooked the garden hose to one of the two valves so I can turn it on and off. Although not necessary, I hooked the sink to the other valve but plan on leaving it on or (open) all the time as I have a stainless steel braided high pressure hose going from the valve to the sink, and should anything leak or burst when I am not around, it is outside. Lastly I removed the cap from the bottom of the Y fitting and attached the stainless steel braided high pressure hose to my dogs water bowl. Reality is I was shopping for a three (3) way valve splitter but there weren't many to be found and the quality just wasn't there. While there were plenty of four (4) way valve splitters, likewise the quality was a concern. When I came across the ELEY it was a no brainer. It is most likely the BEST/HIGHEST QUALITY valve/splitter you will ever come across. Although it is three to four times more expensive compared to other valve/splitters, only the ELEY comes with a 10 YEAR WARRANTY against leaks or defects! One last point worth mentioning, the diameter of each valve's bore/through hole is .551 inches or 14mm. You will not find many splitter valves out there with 1/2 inch bore/through holes.

Definitely taking this if I ever move.
I used this to split my outdoor hose bib to supply a hose for washdown and a timer controlled drip system for containers. For this reason, I need to have the valve to which it is attached always open so that the water would always be there for the sprinkler timer. I think the valves in this are better than the valves in the hose bib to which it is attached. They are easy to operate and open and shut with clean crisp action that inspired confidence. The heft, finish and precision of the machined elements give the same confidence that this hose wye is here to stay. I wish I felt the same about my dishwasher or myriad other “durable” goods which lately feel more disposable than durable. This is a throw back. The kind of thing you find in a vintage shop that makes you feel they just don’t make things the way they used to. Someone still does. I wish they would make a dishwasher.

Much easier to shut on or off than standard design
Much easier to shut on or off than standard design. Extremely well made. Weighs a ton. (I need to check out what else these people make)._____________________________Later addition March 2018: dumb dumb (moi) couldn't figure out why Eley didn't make a 4 way. Well. You buy 2 and add the second to the first at the bottom. It's in a picture but somehow it didn't click for me. I suspect you could add a third or more. I am VERY happy with this product as it's sturdy as heck, doesn't leak and is MUCH easier to open or shut off any individual valve. Worth every penny.___________________________________________________Jan 2021 - addition b/c bored [see stay at home order]: Eley is driving me to the poorhouse ;-) but their hose nozzle (spray thingee) is amazing. Same large flip on/off opening mechanism.

The best hose splitters available
After reading so many reviews about other similar products that are cheaper but failed after a short time period, I ordered two the these 2-Way brass valves to work with two clothes washing machines I have in my basement. These are not cheap but well worth the price -- very well made and beefy. And a great value compared to what a plumber would charge to run another set of water lines to my second washing machine. Don't waste your time or money on cheaper versions of these types of valves. Buy this brand and be happy.

Wow, the REAL DEAL
I grew tired of replacing the "almost all metal" hose splitters you can buy at the hardware stores. Real tired. But a search of Amazon only turned up more-of-the-same junk. Fortunately, one reviewer recommended this product and I was able to then find it. It is orders of magnitude better than the junk pile stuff. Solid brass valves, with relatively large bores compared to most. Heavy, massive, practically a work of art in a world of throw-away hardware junk. Can' really say how long it will last, but it is very difficult to imagine it failing in the near future. Anyway, it has a 10 year warranty. I have no doubt that it will last that long.

After a very mild winter and water shut off was greeted by a cracked thread
So I had a very positive opinion of this Y-valve, until I went to turn my house on after a day or two of freezing weather, I found the adapter pictured above. The faucet had been shut off the whole winter and I was greeted by this after the weather had warmed up to the 50's.

Leaks water at the handle
I bought this y valve in April 2020. Very solid and love the U handle. Envisioned many years of service. HOWEVER, after draining water out and leaving open for the Colorado winter, this April, one of the handles is leaking water. Should I buy another and bring it indoors for the winter? Or buy a cheap one that I know will only last a couple years?

Too damn expensive, but the only Heavy Brass units ...
Too damn expensive, but the only Heavy Brass units that I could see available. Have put them into service and am hoping that they perform equal to their outrageous price. They do seem very well made. Notice that they do Not come with any bracing accessory, which I think they really could use.
