These are price gouged Chinese-ium but I use it every day in my mobile kit for my VX-6R. It's a must have accessory for your Yaesu HT.

I bought this thing for my little Yaesu handheld ham radio. It charges it just fine and it’s really kind of an innovative idea having something that can run off 5 V and put out 12, but it does put out some noise into my other radios which I don’t like. Other than that good item. Please work on the filtering.

It worked with my Ft70d and also the charging cradle. Don’t know why some reviews say it doesn’t work. I had no problem with it. It also works with my Vx6r. Also works with the fast charge cradle for the ft70. I like it.

Plugged in just fine, but would not charge my VX-6R. Neither from a USB plug in my car, nor from a 20000mAh battery pack!

Tested and works with telephone USB power pack, car jump start power pack USB outlet, car cigarette plug USB adapter, and 5V 1A USB wall outlet phone charger (not all 5V 1A USB wall chargers worked). See pictures. Noticed faster charge with higher amp sources.

I bought this charger as a 'just in case' charger that I could throw in by backpack. I've used it to charge my FT-70D and FT-5D overnight. Charging from zero it takes a bit longer than the OEM charger, but overnight by morning charging is complete. The output on this is only .5 - 1 amp, so I have not risked running the radio with this charger, but it definitely works in a pinch or in an overnight charge situation.

Compact to carry around use any usb charger

I was looking for something nice and compact compared to the charger you get as standard with the Yaesu Worked with my VX-6E. This fits the bill and has so far worked flawlessly for over 6 months. Decent price as well for this type of equipment.

Powered and charged an FT-70D. Didn't notice any extra noise on the band (or in AM Rx).Much more convenient than a 12v one.

l always worried about charging my Yaesu FT-70 and FT-2D when out and about. Both of these radios, and many others like my Icom IC-T8 have charging sockets for a charger, but no USB charging socket, which is the way nowadays. Worry no more, this device plugs into your mobile phone charger or Powerbank, with a small plug, to go straight into the charging socket of your radio. There is a small12 volt step- up transformer in line so make sure that your radio uses that voltage for charging. That boosts the 5 volts from your mobile ( cell) phone charger to 12V, Generally, any handheld radio with a separate charging socket uses 12V. and that includes Yaesu & Icom models. Can't be without this now, especially out in the field.

I did wonder whether it would work, but no problems. Now I have USB charging.
