Works great for both NVME and NGFF/SATA SSDs
Pluses:1. Wide compatibility with M.2 form-factor drives of all sizes and M- & B-keys. As another reviewer noted: "a must have for PC technician"2. Fast: sustained 3GB/s+ when writing files to NVME3. Good value, one of the least expensive for the functionalityMinus:1. No external enclosure (as advertised) makes is a bit of a concern. While USB port appears to be reliably attached, it lacks additional support from an enclosure. This is price trade-off: device with enclosure is ~2x in price.

Great cheap way to read M2 SSD PCle drive
I had a failed M2 SSD drive that would not boot. I tried to run diagnostics with the drive installed but nothing worked.I used this adapter to connect the M2 drive and I was able to read most of the data from the failed drive. It was a life safer for being able to copy off my Documents and Downloads folder. It was very easy to use. I installed the M2 drive and plugged into the USB port on my Windows PC. Windows was able to see and connect to the adapter and drive.

Bare bones, but works
This performed very well, but it would have been nice if there were some better documentation. There is a video, but it is a bit hard to follow sometimes. I used this to hold a Crucial m2 card to be used in cloning my computer's boot m2 card, moving to a larger capacity. It took me awhile to figure out how to do it, but it worked, and this m2 to USB card was a key part of the process

Worked great the first time!
Other than there not being any instructions on the usbc m2 adapter's use, it wasn't terribly difficult to figure out. It allowed me to clone an older 50gb m2 ssd to a Samsung 990EOV 1b ssd very easily. No worries. The hardest part of the whole process was working with Samsung's Magician Software when you have BItlocker turned on for Windows.

Inexpensive and easy to use
this M.2 PCLe "card reader" was extremely easy to useUsed twice - once to pull off data from a laptop's OEM SSD when it would not boot up properly. This enabled recovery of the data files form the SSD prior to restoring the OS from the SSD's "D drive" Windows backup. A Windows restore erases all data files so it was necessary to pull off the existing data prior to resetting the laptop.2nd use was for cloning the restored OS & SSD from & replacing it with a new much larger 2 TB SSD , also from Amazon. This too worked perfectly.A small Philips screwdriver is included to lock down the SSD while it is the reader. The screwdriver worked fine for this purpose but was too small to remove the screw holding the OEM SSD to the motherboard. This required a larger jeweler's Philips screwdriverThe box also included a blue heat sink strip but it wasn't used and wasn't a problem w/o it.The adapter has a blue blinking light to indicate data tranfer.HIGHLY recommended.

Reliable
Never heard of this brand before, so was skeptical of how reliable these would be. Purchased 10 for use in a commercial environment, and they have been working non stop for months. Would highly recommend for either a home or business user.

Solid. Works well. Perfect for grabbing quick files / technician must have
Had to recover some files from a NVME drive from a dead system before we rebuilt, re-using the old drive.Popped the NVME into the USB adapter, plugged it in and I was up and running. Please note, I did have to assign a drive letter to the NVME drive using Windows Disk Management. - if you plug it in and you don't get anything happening, please look up how to do this.Obviously the read and write speeds are terribly slow compared to what an actual drive can do, but thats what you get over USB. Grabbed a couple thousand files with ease, works as described. I would buy again and recommend this item.Lastly, yea... there is no enclosure, and yes the drive is exposed. These are NOT designed for long term usage. It is literally a tool you use to grab or drop the data you need and then put away for your next repair. If you need something long term and more durable please consider a NVME to USB that comes with an enclosure. The build quality on these is more than sufficient, additionally they provide a small screwdriver and everything you need for any sized NVME.

Compatible with multiple mini SSD drive, works very well, delivers above expectations & great tool
Used it with a mini 64gb SSD to transfert content of an older 8gb SSD for maximizing an older mini HP desktop computer, which easilly performed required tasks easilly. Now the older HP Thin Client destop computer SSD configuration has been max out as per HP specifications, and this legacy computer can be use either with MS-Windows, as well as Unix with Ubuntu to extend the life of an older HP mini desktop providing printing services for a non Apple compatible laser printer, and enable that older laser printer to print content from ipad, iphone alike any Apple AirPrint enable printer.

better if it is in a cheap enclosure since its literally just the pcb, it would also add protection.
solid for the price, should have a backplate to protect the PCB from anything. would recommend to put electrical tape on the side that has the surface mounted components to prevent any short's from happening, especially since you would be putting your ssd with precious data connected to this product. overall it's price is solid at 20 CAD, with it being great for installing OS's and file transferring/backups/

BRILLIANT BAREBONES!
This adapter enabled me to CLONE my SYSTEM C: Drive onto a brand new MSI M.2 SSD easily and quickly without wasting my time putting my MSI SSD into an enclosure, out of the enclosure, and into my laptop.HOWEVER, it DOES have 2 flaws/weaknesses in its construction (1) where the USB end attaches to the circuit board. Therefore, be EXTRA CAREFUL when inserting it into your USB port! I strongly suggest you hold the adapter by the two corners of the circuit board closest to the USB end as you push it into the USB socket on your laptop or pc. Failure to do so and holding the adapter around the middle area of the circuit board as you push it into your laptop/pc will eventually cause the area between the bottom of the USB plug and the circuit board to bend and possibly sever some of the connectors. (2) The second weak point is that it will stick out quite a ways from your laptop/pc and because of its fragility it could easily get accidentally bent. If I still had my cats this adapter would NOT last very long as they would find this protruding object an irresistible plaything. Then again, I might be the one to knock into the adapter with my leg, or worse, my foot as I cross or uncross my legs near my PC, and.... good-bye adapter! IN SPITE of all this, the ELUTENG M.2 SSD Enclosure Adapter worked flawlessly as long as I handled it with care. Plus, this little adapter is a STEAL at $20! Just one more thing, ELUTENG; can you please make the NEON BLUE LED 50% less bright? OMG! It literally lights up a room in the darkness!
