Excellent for bananas as both the shape and texture are ideal for the Tescoma. It should work on anything that's a cylinder with a certain hardness e.g. a swiss roll = a jammed cylinder, which sounds like a faulty engine part :-) But apart from bananas and dough, when it came to it I couldn't think what I could use it for. Bread dough, it turned out, wasn't ideal. I spent time flouring the Tescoma and shaping the dough to fit it. It's easier to prepare rolls the manual way i.e. to obtain same-sized pieces use a dough-cutter (or a knife) to cut the dough in half, in half again, again etc. on a work surface you've already floured for rolling out. Yes the Tescoma slices beautifully but the pieces were too small (or I like to do large rolls), and I felt I was handling the dough too much. Cleaning the Tescoma afterwards was time-consuming as it has a lot of surface area e.g. all those wires. The Tescoma makes a clicking sound when you finally push the slicing handle down, which is a helpful informative click. Worryingly at first, it sounds like breaking plastic. It's a large item to store. Therefore _IF_ the Tescoma works well on your chosen food AND _IF_ you use it a lot, the Tescoma would be worth it despite its large size. It's probably more useful in a commercial kitchen, so I'll need to open a cafe and serve sliced bananas with everything.

I bought this product because I was tired of cutting my sushi rolls separately with a knife. When I cut my first sushi roll, I had to apply some pressure and I could hear some crackling to the plastic as I cut through it. I thought it might crack at any moment. Disappointingly, most of the sushi slices had broke apart. I was a little upset, and was really hoping for an easier and a more seamless cut on my first try. However, when I applied water to the cutting wire, the second sushi roll was easier to slice and most of the sushi slices remained in tact. I am rating my review because, number one, this is way to expensive for what it's worth. Only because the wire, in my opinion, could be sharper. Keep in mind, this is not recommended for cutting any kind of hard substance such as a block of cheese or a raw potato. But, it would rock with something like a banana or some soft bread.

Ayer cuando recibí el producto sufrí una gran decepción. Mi intención era la de poder cortar el pan de molde que lejos de conseguirlo, lo que hace es aplastarlo :(

Würde mal sagen, optisch ganz OK, ob Material nachhaltig ist..... warten wir es ab, und ob er die Leistung und Qualität bringt wird sich zeigen, bis jetzt war er noch nicht im Einsatz, das ORIGINAL aus der CSSR war über 20 Jahre im Einsatz.
