Q: What features does the pro offer that the normal version doesn't?

The main difference I see is that the Pro has over the previous model is super fast USB 3 facility and a larger storage capacity. I have had, and been very happy with, the original for a year and recently traded up to the Pro because of the extra capacity and the increased speed in file transfer to my PC when returning to base. Worth getting your contact details engraved on body.

Q: Would I be able to view photos stored on this device on my tv using it's usb port?

Yes, you can view photos stored on this device, first unlock it, then plug it. I use it on a Philips Ambilight TV (android OS embedded)

Q: will it still be password protected if used on any usb port ie TV dvd player media player etc

I don’t know because I couldn’t get it to work. My advice is to steer clear.
