It's not quite a gallon, is it?
I have to say, I absolutely love this little thing. It's super easy, and it fits on any of the shelves in my fridge, so it's always got a home. The mesh basket is delicate, not fragile, so you have to be careful when cleaning it (can't bang it on the edge of the trash can to knock out the grounds), but it's also a great way to do cold brew. I used to use a gallon jar in which I would put the measured coffee grounds and water, then strain through a filter, and pour into a clean milk jug we kept in the fridge. I'd prep it Saturday, pour it Sunday, and that was our coffee for the week. That's why I'm a little disappointed at the actual volume of this thing. I don't think it's a gallon, though to be honest I haven't actually measured. Here's what I know about the volume: I filled a 32 ounce thermos with ice two times, had two pint glasses with ice, and one tumbler with ice. I feel like it's about 20 to 24 ounces shy of a gallon, which is one more day of coffee. So I have to brew more often. However, I can't take a star away for the size because the design is brilliant. I love the way it fits in the fridge, I love the way you just take out the basket and it's good to go. The spigot doesn't leak, and pours at a pretty decent-but-not-too-fast pace. Also, and this is petty thing, it isn't ugly, like the weird milk jug with brown water in it. Lid fits nice and firm. The plastic is surprisingly thick/feels durable. The bottom is slightly slanted towards the spigot, which is a nice touch. It could be slanted just a tiny bit more, but there's no way to avoid having to tip it up to get the last bit out, so it's fine. I love it. I'll probably buy a second one just to have on hand as a backup, as sometimes companies like this that make niche products for fads like cold brew disappear when the fad dies out. Though cold brew has been popular for a long while now, so who knows. Buy one!

Save $$ by switching to coffee grounds vs pre-bottled iced coffee.
I was spending a small fortune buying Iced coffees like Stok or Stabucks from the refrigeration section of the grocery. With this I can buy ground coffee for about the cost 3 store-bought bottles, and make enough coffee to last for weeks. Saving lots of $$. Very simple to load the ground coffee in the durable steel mesh tube, fill with water, and set it in the fridge overnight. The next morning I have a gallon or so of coffee. The convenient spout lets me dispense coffee straight from the fridge. Easy to clean. My only recommendation is not to completely fill the mesh tube to the brim as when you put it in the water, the coffee grounds want to rise up. Use the lid as you push the tube into the water and that should prevent the grounds from spilling out. And take your time putting the tube in.

NOT 1 gal but works great; lacks some instructions
Pros: * Works great! * Simple to use * Easy to clean & reboot Cons: * NOT one gallon. Actually holds 3 quarts of water (about 3/4 of a gallon) with about an inch of headspace. * Instructions have most info on the product itself but don't contain quantity information (I measured myself, carefully, with a liquid measuring cup) or information on how much ground coffee it holds (again, had to measure myself, bit of trial and error there. Your mileage may vary). * No "starter" recipe included. Not a huge deal, Google knows most everything, but it would have been a nicer experience to not have to dive into that particular rabbit hole when I just. wanted. the. freaking. coffee. done. For those wanting to avoid that pitfall: BASIC STARTER RECIPE: * 3 cups coarsely-ground regular coffee. * 12 cups (which is 3 quarts) water - we used filtered tap water.

I like mine so much that I have 3 now.
I have 3 of these. Started with 1. My wife wasn't a big coffee drinker until she had some of the cold brew from this carafe and then she got hooked. Since I like my coffee stronger flavored, I ended up purchasing a 2nd so that I could have one batch steeping while dispensing (and still steeping) another. Over a year later, and my daughter has now started imbibing on my luscious cold brew, so I have purchased yet a 3rd carafe. Goes to show how pleased I am with the quality of these units. They sit nicely in the fridge with room behind for my bag of Costco (Jose's) grounds and some other items, and smaller items even fit on top of these. Notice the oldest one faces front for dispensing while the other two age for a few days before I rotate them. This method works well. The cost savings over buying coffee daily are incredible. I get about 3 weeks out of a bag of beans that costs $14. And, providing it has time to steep before my family sucks it all down, the flavor and strength are incredible. Easy 5 stars. They also include a card in the package and email me after purchase to make sure everything is good. That's a nice touch.

More coffee, please!
Reviewing after my second purchase of this- buy it now. I accidentally broke the spout (spicket?) of my first one after a couple years use. There is not a better way to have constant cold brew in your home. I love the mesh basket for ground coffee and the capacity. So much coffee! I personally throw all of the pieces into the dishwasher for an easy clean up. So durable and worth the cost. Coffee on tap!

Bought 2 cuz they're game changers!
I had been wanting to make my own cold brew for a while, but I used cheese cloth a few times and it felt too difficult. I love how easy and fast this makes it to have cold brew. My concern was that the cold brew would taste plastic-y, but it hasn't at all. Definitely recommend! The nozzle is durable and the strainer's coffee grounds capacity is pretty large. The only downside is that the lid is v easy to take off. I wish it had more of a click into place mechanism, but it's still a great value overall for the money I spent.

Perfect for Thai tea
So we get out Thai tea from Amazon too. So we buy the 4 pack now. So fill up the strainer to the top with Thai tea and fill it up with water soak the tea too so it doesn’t want to spill out of the tea is dry. Wet the tea to prevent that. Also once u do that place it in the refrigerator or leave outside. Best results in the refrigerator. Then 24 hours later u got strong Thai tea and we use star bucks macchiato creamer with our Thai tea and we love it. Try it with any way u want. This unit simple and works great. Only issue sometimes it leaks from the nozzle. Also the strainer is heavy duty feels like it’s 2-3 layers thick and strong. Easy to clean too just rinse with soapy water and use the jet option on ur sink. Might get one more to have a cold brew coffee as well.also we noticed since we are cold brewing the tea no bitter taste in the teas since we don’t Obed brew the tea and it comes out just so refreshing.

Nice product
I got in a nasty habit of buying cold brew coffee at the store. That stuff is expensive. I had to figure something else out. I looked at a lot of cold brew containers, but this one caught my eye for the volume and height. Others with a high volume capacity were taller and I knew I couldn't accommodate that in my fridge. I have been using this for a few weeks and have had no issues. Some commenters noted getting grounds in their coffee. I have not had this. The mesh is very fine and does not let anything through. I can see someone getting grounds if the have the on the top ring, but filling the mesh prior to inserting solves this. The mesh cleans very easily. One thing to note, do not fill this at a high speed. The grounds rise with the water level and could go over the top ring if filling quickly.
