SnarkAll Instrument Tuner/Metronome - Red

There seem to be a number of different gadgets reviewed under the same page, so to avoid doubt this is about the Snark SN4, "Chromatic Tuner For All Instruments With Built In Metronome".I really like this little gadget. It feels solid in the hand, and is simple and intuitive to use. There are no fancy functions apart from a simple metronome beat and tuner display but, since I don't need any, that's fine by me.The tuning display is nice and clear with colour for added emphasis. Best of all, it allows for different pitches of A - from A=440 (haven't tried higher) down to A=415 which is perfect for baroque recorders. It also emits a tone to tune to.The metronome beat is simply set to a number of beats per minute.Its only slight flaw is that it turns on quite easily if you throw it in a bag full of other things, so that you suddenly find yourself walking along ticking...

Delighted with this purchase (after binning another brand which was useless). The Snark was accurate out of the box when tested against an "A" tuning fork. It is easy to use and easy to read in any lighting conditions. Highly recommended - it is best tuner I have ever used. Daniel.

Having been in hibernation for the summer and suffering from replaced strings I desperately tried to tune by ear to no avail. I tried every app on the web which gave me an F for a C and a G# for a D, thought they were gonna all snap which at £30 a string is a pretty pricey gamble for a stupid app. Also this is really fun to sing into and see exactly how accurate your voice is.Having played for 14 years I'm very surprised that no one in my orchestras or any teachers have ever said just by a bloody electric tuner. Perhaps theirs a certain kind of snobbery around not having perfect pitch but when your instrument is desperately out of tune its very hard to position it by ear. So so stupid, no start stop button, resets every time which means you have to leave it on, no volume either. I play scales at different speeds, gradually getting faster by 10 bpm, I have to retype the tempo with each increase in speed. Absolutely hate this product.

It tunes all types of instruments from brass too strings, I was able too tune my own trumpet and my friends violin the same tuner.

Compact and easy to use.

This is great....beats a Korg tuner that I bought...this is so simple and quick and...accurate....Korg was miles out and difficult to see....this one is so clear

Very useful for helping to keep me in tune on the flute and recorder.
