One of my Favorites Coffee for this Coffee Lover
My husband and I love this coffee. There’s several pluses that we appreciate. First, there’s not static when we grind with our burr grinder! Am thinking it means it’s fresh and good quality. The flavor is amazing. It’s medium but no bitterness. Smooth and creamy and is really good cold as well.Is it worth the price? Evidently as we keep coming back to it.We buy whole bean. Have tried several roasts of this brand and honestly, we love them all.Only drawback is the price, as it’s on the higher end of coffees, but not as bad as say, Jamaican Blue Mountain!!

Good so far
First thing I notice was the rich aroma even through the sealed bag. Very pleasant. Broke out the grinder the next day and set it for medium fine. It's pleasantly smooth, not very acidic.Going to try a French press next. 👍

Smooth, delicious and full bodied
Just received my (second) shipment of the Volcanica Guatemala Peaberry Coffee, Whole Bean, Antigua, Medium Roast, Single Origin, 16-ounce. I have ordered 3 bags of this coffee to date. Delivery has always been punctual with no defective products. I have found this coffee to be smooth, delicious and full bodied when brewed to the my taste (this required a little experimentation on my part to get the H2O:Coffee ratio that worked best for me). This coffee is a little expensive but, since I am not a heavy coffee drinker and I don't like to waste my money buying a cheaper coffee that I know I won't drink (no matter how much cream I add), I don't mind paying the price. I am really enjoying this coffee......

Acidic profile
The Guatemala antigua is quite acidic and certainly not worth it with this price point. I've deferred to my trader Joe's organic Ethiopian coffee bag instead.Everybody has their own opinion of the taste quality, but if you wouldn't drink the typical trash served in your office break room, and like to drink your coffee black... This is not it.

Not up to my expectations for Guatemalan Antigua coffee beans
I've been a fan of Guatemalan Antigua for years. In general, it's a more expensive variety of coffee bean, so the price didn't deter me because historically it's been worth it when I got it from other vendors. This particular vendor DID deliver the coffee beans several weeks after they were roasted, thus accounting for the 5 stars under freshness. Unfortunately, the flavor was disappointing ... not the Guatemalan Antigua flavor I've appreciated in the past. Perhaps it was a bad year for coffee in Guatemala (analogous to how weather conditions can affect the quality of grapes and, subsequently, the wine they yield). I cannot say that I'm a coffee expert. The flavor simply wasn't up to my experience and expectations for this coffee variety.

Great coffee, didn't appreciate the extra emails. One email requesting a review is enough.
Really great coffee! The best guatemala antigua i've had and really fresh. You won't be disappointed in this coffee. The coffee is great. The only thing I didn't like was the repeated emails asking me to leave a review. I got the first one the day after the coffee had arrived. I hadn't even had a cup yet. I got the 2nd a few days later, again asking me to leave a review. I don't like being pushed or rushed. I always leave a review, but I had only had one cup by the time the 2nd email arrived. I can't base a review off one cup or 2 cups. Give me a few days to form an impression, don't keep sending me emails.
