Peace of mind
I decided to buy this after getting a flat battery in a car park, on a hot day.Although I haven't needed it for my car, I used it on a neighbours car when they had a flat battery. Simple to use, worked first time, even though the battery was almost completely flat. I like the fact I don't have to worry about charging it.Update: flat battery today 😞 took 3 minutes to get it started 😀

One of those essential car accessories...
... Which you buy, carry in your car boot or glovebox - and hope you never need. In the depths of winter, or when the lights of your car have been left on overnight and it won't start, THIS is where these (capacitor-based), battery boosters become life-savers. With NO built-in batteries to go flat, leak, corrode or otherwise fail when required, This system extracts the last vestiges of electrical energy that will still be lurking in the bottom of your battery - or from a passing saviour - stores it in its integral capacitors, then sends a large charge of electrical oomph back into your battery - and thence to your starter motor - for easy emergency starting. Transfer it from car to car, to boat, or to whatever and basically, you have an asset that sits in its storage bag until needed - then wakes up and saves the day. Perfick.

Arrived as described & on time just
Bought to help start old v8 petrol 4x4 with dead battery.ProsAppears quality build & readably robust.ConsDidn’t work for me but could be user error or battery & after market alarm prevented vehicle starting.Alternator had been charging battery at 18v, RAC man advised battery probably fried, so could be why device didn’t work….anyone had similar experience?

Steer well clear
Hi this e starter800 worked fine when new. We have had it for under 5 years and probably only used it 5 or 6 times, tried it again today and the lights came on the starter but the car barely turned over as though the capacitors have failed. I contacted Sealey technical department who could offer no help or advice other than to buy a new one. I am certainly not impressed.

Does The Job
Bit Pricey, but better than lugging a 1 ton booster / jump pack around in the back of your van. LOL

It started a 2.2 litre diesel after sitting in the boot of my car for a year and a half
I have the earlier edition of the eStart 800 with the LED voltage indication. I was dismayed to read some of the poor scoring reviews for this jump starter as I consider this one of the best devices for starting a car with a flat battery. It does have its limitations though and is dependent on being charged to 12 volts to work its magic. If the car battery won't do this, connection to a good battery in another car or even a decent power bank will accomplish this but that will take a while. The eStart needs an engine that fires and starts within a couple of seconds of turning the key, it won't work on a car that's stood for many months and needs churning for five minutes to get it going. Mine is currently on loan, starting a 2.2 litre Honda diesel engine until the car goes in for a phantom battery discharge repair. It previously sat in the boot of my car for two years and worked first time when needed, whereas a well known fully charged lithium pack I have failed to get the engine up to cranking speed. I consider this unit an essential in any ICE car I drive. If it doesn't work its not being used properly.

Just started a JCB 3CX back hoe loader
Just received a Sealey E/Start800 even though I brought it from somewhere else I wanted to put a review as there is not to many out there.I have a JCB 3CX that we have to jump start every time we use it and I thought that something so small couldn't possibly start a loader so I simply attached it to the terminals and pressed the on button it went through its cycle and went green in under 2 minutes I then turned over the digger and it started FIRST time. This is a unbelievable piece of kit would recommend to any one with a battery up to 800CCANever have to use jump leads again!

No internal battery so no hazard
Does exactly what it is supposed to do attach to battery switch on wait approximately 1minute 40 seconds for supercaps to charge to 14 volts from power remaining in run down battery start the vehicle and you are up and running love this bit of kit and would recommend over lithium battery jump starters as it has no built in batteries that after a couple of years tend to deteriorate and can become a possible fire hazard
