COMFORTABLE & EXTRA-WARM The soft fabric slipper design combined with premium natural duck down filling make these top-rated bed slippers the preferred choice by customers over hot water bottles and wheat bags. ABOUT FOOT FURNACE Inventor Ross Burrows from Mangawhai, New Zealand suffered from cold feet as soon as the temperature dropped in Autumn until it rose in the Spring. Ross tried every conceivable type of blended yarns in sock form, but without success. He also tried microwave-heated wheat bags and hot water bottles however it was only a matter of time before all items ran out of warmth. It came to his attention that by wrapping his feet in a sleeping bag filled with duck down they finally stayed warm, so why not design a sleeping bag just for the feet, hence the name Foot Furnace. Designed in New Zealand and Manufactured with 95% USA Sourced Materials

Natural warmth for a good night's sleep
I'm a woman (and we generally have colder feet than men, for some reason) and I have slow blood circulation. When I get cold, I get very cold indeed. So when my feet are cold I can go all night without them warming up, despite expensive duvets (think pure wool and mulberry silk, depending on the time of year) - because I live in the country and insist on at least one open window in the bedroom.I've tried all sorts of 'bedsocks', but only thin silk socks with pure wool (and highly inelegant) thick socks over them has ever solved the problem.Prior to trying these Foot Furnace luxury bed slippers. These bed slippers are correctly named - they're much more slippers than socks. No bedsocks or whatever are going to be elegant, that's a given, but a lot of them look ridiculous, and are a complete faff (for example wearing two pairs of socks) and laundering and/or discolouration can be an added problem into the bargain.Laundering of these Foot Furnace bed socks/slippers is not a problem and they don't discolour in the wash. When I look down at my feet when I'm wearing them, they remind me of various parts I've had in seventeenth century plays, but they're not "I need to have warm feet in bed and I don't care what I look like" footwear.Best of all, the Foot Furnace bed slippers are warm. Not warm in the hot water bottle way (delicious warmth followed by uncomfortably sweaty overheating) or the electric blanket way (unnatural warmth and an odd ridgey underblanket feel), but a naturally easing off of cold and a warmth increasing to what your feet would feel like if they'd been warm in the first place. Your feet never get horribly hot, just naturally warm enough. You can slip your feet in and out of these bed slippers without undoing them if you want. On the other hand if you do want to undo them, it is a Velcro fastening and so not a problem. I find I often sleep all night with the slippers on but, if I wake up for some other reason (I'm a light sleeper), I can take the slippers off without disturbing myself or anyone else who happens to be around (...).(A note here: I have a 5½ women's size foot, D width.)I don't ever wear the slippers out of bed because I don't want to pick up any dirt and transfer it - but these are quite sturdy pieces of footwear and you could happily wear them around the house as normal slippers. In fact they look a lot better than many slippers I've seen, and they'll never look grubby. If you have any rough patches on your feet because you've been a touch lazy about your skin smoothing routine, these Foot Furnace slippers aren't going to cause you problems. Personally I find getting to sleep, if rough skin is brushing against the wrong sort of material, a real problem. It just feels wrong and I often end by getting up and giving myself a brief pedicure in the small hours. Not with these bed slippers - it's not an issue.Love them - and they're going to last (and still look like elegant seventeenth century shoes instead of manky bedsocks) for a long time into the future.

Not much of a furnace here. The concept is brilliant. Being one not to mind splurging on products which keep me warm, this seemed like a good idea. Promises of increase blood circulation and keeping my toes toasty at night this seemed even better. However, the one size fits all approach doesn't work well with this item. Also it just didn't warm the toes. The most important part!

They're Great, just not for me...
It is a brilliant Idea, I only dislike it, as my legs are too wide for them to be done up.If you have swollen legs or ankles, this is likely to be a problem for you, otherwise, buy, buy, buy! my feet get frozen at work, where I sit all day at a desk. This would be brilliant if the fit was better. If you are of a normal or average size, don't be put off my my review, you'll be fine.

Bliss ha Arrived..the best thing I have ever bought in my life..
I have never in my life been more delighted with a product..after years of chilly feet, trying heating pads and socks under the covers, these came yesterday and my world changed. I slept like a baby with comfort all night! Truly, if you have cold feet you must try these slippers, easy on and off and after a few minutes of wearing them you are not even aware of anything on your feet..perfect comfort..bless the genius that created this wonderful idea..so thankful..gypsyjoe..

My girl friend has raynards and her feet are always ice cold..she loves wearing them to bed they keep her warm feet warm which now keeps my legs warm. Side note they fit me and I’m a size 12 in sneakers and she’s a 5 1/2 woman’s very impressive..Please if you buy these dont complain about how you can’t walk in them “they are made for bed time to keep your feet warm... NOT MADE FOR WALKONG AROUND YOUR HOUSE THEY DO NOT ADVERTISE AS SLIPPER SOCKS.

Good idea, and they do work for most people.
Let me start off by saying that I've had cold feet my whole life. I can't sleep if my feet are cold.I found these sleeping bags for feet, and I thought the price was kind of steep but not really considering the alternatives (continuously buying HotFeet by Hothands, or battery powered socks which only get so warm or need batteries replaced or charged). An important thing to note is that these don't work for everyone. Like another reviewer mentioned, my mom (who also has chronically icy feet) said they make her feet colder. But they work for me.One disadvantage is that they make your feet sweat, and I've noticed now my feet sweat almost all time when enclosed in shoes-even when cold, whether I have them on or not. Also because of this, I recommend flipping them inside out and spraying with Lysol or another disinfectant about once a week at least.I find these don't work unless my feet are also under an electric heated blanket or a regular blanket. Also wearing a THIN pair of socks seems to deter sweating, so maybe a breathable lining could be added to these in the future. It would be nice if they had a version for outdoors to wear inside boots, or even a sturdy bottom so they can be worn as houseshoes. I've walked a few feet on hardwood floors from my bed to the bathroom in them but I wouldn't risk going any further than that.I have had them for a month and I no longer have to wear them every night. I wanted to thoroughly test them before reviewing. Overall, I recommend. PS- I took these on a trip home to Chiberia and I slept like a baby, in spite of the negative degree weather.EDIT: One reviewer was unsure if these worked if you have poor circulation. My circulation is/was very poor but I've been walking every day or getting other exercise for at least 30 minutes so it has improved, which helped the socks to work better. However, my mom also has poor circulation and gets 1-1.5 hours of exercise a day but her feet are still ice cold all the time and these socks do nothing for her. So it depends on the person.

not warm enough and dangerous for nocturnal walking
I bought this “foot warmer” for my mother whi suffers from very cold feet, even in the summer. These were useless — too thin to gove any more warmth than a pair of socks. Worse, they have slipoery soles so if my mother were to get up during the night, she’d have to take them off and out on walking slippers, the. Take iff the slippers and put these “furnaces” back on to go to bed. It is not possible to put slippers on over the “furnaces” and not safe to walk with only the “furnaces” on. We have returned them.

It's like having a little blanket wrapped around your feet. It's sowed and hemmed on the bottom so it keeps basic shape. They keep your feet warm, not hot. Very comfortable. I was afraid they wouldn't fit when I first got them. I wear typically a 12 men's, sometimes 12.5 depending on the brand of shoe. It's a snug fit but not uncomfortable. Had my first sleep in them last night. Highly recommend
