I purchased these because I had been using chemical fire starters but wanted to start cooking over my firepit so decided to try something more natural. I was really impressed with the performance of the starters, I used 2 initially but 1 would have been fine. They last for a long time and I found them easier to use with less risk of the fire going out.

These do the job to fire the coals in my kamado. They are natural so wont leave funky smells and tastes in the kamado ceramics. Only need to fire up 2 of these to get the coal cranking.
