Max Value DVI-D Splitter Cable, 1x Male to 2x Female, 0.3 Mtr, Beige

I have two computers and two monitors, and with two of these splitters I can run both monitors on each of my computers without having to mess about with the cables. but if I could switch ether of the two splitters on or off it would be even better.

Utterly useless, no connectivity from one side to the other.

Do not get any picture from either source. Tried simultaneous insertion as suggested by another reviewer, no use. Amazon were fantastic though, easy return and refund.

I ordered this cable to act as a splitter from the back of my NVIDIA 7800 GS video card to a Dell 2407WFP-HC Flat Panel Monitor and my JVC DLA-HD1 projector. When it arrived I connected my monitor to it, and the monitor immediately went in to 'power save mode' - no image! I tried connecting my monitor to each of the female connectors in turn to no avail. I returned the cable to Amazon as faulty, for a replacement (great returns process by the way Amazon, thanks). As I sort of suspected it would, the replacement came and behaved in exactly the same way. Glumly trawling the Interwibble I found a similar product elsewhere with an advisory note that BOTH output devices had to be connected simultaneously for an image to appear on either. So, with a trembling hand, I connected my projector to one, my screen to the other and... bingo, an image on the screen and no 'entering power save mode'. Smarter men than I will know why this is the case; capacitance, impedance, magic? In any event it would have saved me a lot of time and trouble if a similar advisory had been provided with this cable - take note Amazon. So one star away for poor documentation, and I hope this comment prevents anyone else having a similarly distressing time!

The splitter was just what i needed and worked between my full HD monitor and full HD tv!This splitter will not work for creating an extended desktop as it is designed to split the signal between two devices - take note as not in the description.

As per the other review here, plugging your monitor DVI cables into the splitter simulatenously is the key. It's incredibly difficult to do on your own. I achieved this on about the tenth time of trying.Please note - the output to two monitors will be identical. You will not be able to use the two screens seperately, which is what I mistakenly bought this cable for (on recommendation from an IT professional!).Seller/Manufacturer needs to make both of these points more clear.
