We researched and researched, trying to find the best backpack cooler that was both functional and reasonably priced. This is it! It's not a 5-star cooler, but this is the best value compared to the other options on the market. It keeps everything really cold. It's got great volume and is very easy to clean. It's been to the beach, to picnics, and to bike races. It's doing what we want it to do. We LOVE the backpack straps and the various other handles for easy carrying.The not so greats... the front pouch is a good idea but kind of weird. It either needs to be a permanent part of the bag or have easier attachment points. Or, just a big stretchy pouch would be fine. Our least favorite part is that the main zipper works great, but is really hard to pull, which gives you the feeling that you're going to pull the handle off if you're not really careful. It's a very sturdy zipper and we don't have breakage concerns, but it has that "feel." It's likely due to its goal to be waterproof.For under $100, it holds it's ground against all the big-named coolers that are 2-3 times the price. We're glad we started here.

I love that it seems to be very leak proof and it definitely keeps my stuff cold. Even if I leave it in the car overnight we usually still have ice in the morning or at least VERY cold water. Only downside is the weight. Luckily it has chest and hip straps because this puppy is pretty heavy before you pack it. After ice drinks, etc. it’s not a lightweight pack. Probably wouldn’t use it for a very long/overnight hike or anything. Boats, cars, picnic or short day hike only.

This is one sweet cooler bag to own for the summer. We took this cooler bag to the beach, pool club, and even on a road trip. It will keep the content cold all day and for more than a day even when it's been outside on a hot day, thanks to thick, multi-layer insulation. Why spend twice or even 3 times more on a similar cooler bag just for a brand name when this can perform just as well with more bells and whistle?I love this cooler bag because :1) It can be carried as a backpack using 2 shoulder straps. It has padded back panel with raised pads for air ventilation, keeping your back cool even when lugging this on your back for long time.2) It also comes with a wide, detachable shoulder strap if you wish to carry this on one shoulder instead.3) There are so many handles with comfortable grip all around the bag: top, side, and front so you can easily lift from any angle and position.4) T-shaped zipper pull so strong grip for easier opening and closing the zipper.5) Mesh pocket on the side and optional zippered pouch for additional storage, which has a bottle opener attached to it. There's also soft zippered pouch on a shoulder strap to store phone, key, etc.6) Large and deep compartment with thick, multi-layer insulation that keeps the content cold all day. For long road trip, I cover the top with ice but for a beach or pool, I use the reusable ice blocks.The price is amazing for everything it can do. I only wish that the smaller zippered pouch can be easily attached and detached using a buckle rather than straps but this is not a deal breaker since other cooler bags don't provide this extra storage pouch. This is one truly amazing cooler bag that is very versatile and works very well. It's the first thing that we look for whenever we go out for picnic, swimming or road trip. Highly recommend it. Easily 5 out of stars!

Current review of this cooler. The zipper is extremely tough which makes it hard to pull but I applied zipper wax to reduce the stiffness of the pull and that worked well. The build qualities of this cooler are way above the cost range, which in my opinion far exceeded expectations. Now on to the real questions how is the ice retention? I haven't used ice yet but I coupled this cooler with the heytrip ice packs and let me tell you this is a match made in heaven! I placed one in the bottom, six surrounding, with one in top along with 8 warm bottles of water, closed the cooler up, placed it outside, direct sunlight in 95+degree weather for 12 hours. I opened it regularly to see if the packs were still cold. Now when I brought it in to check the water to my surprise it had froze around the inside of the bottles! Needless to say this has completely surprised me! In summation don't hesitate buy this cooler you won't be disappointed!!

The media could not be loaded.  We bought this for cross country travel for a family vacation. It kept everything very cold during our 2 week travels. This cooler flew for free with Alaskan Air as a carry on item. No one cared it was a cooler. (Know what you can take through TSA). I packed it full of food from home and kept refilling it the entire time we were gone. Great choice. (Zipper is tight but that ok. It’s airtight.)
